Ella to Mirissa Shuttle & Udawalawe Safari Drive with Breakfast

Description
Leave the cool highlands of Ella and head toward the warm plains of Udawalawe, where open skies, dry forests, and glimmering lakes shape one of Sri Lanka’s most rewarding wildlife experiences. This is a place where you’ll see elephants up close — not in crowds, but moving freely in their natural habitat — along many other wildlife. The 4×4 drive led by an experienced wildlife tracker who knows the park by heart. It’s a natural, unhurried experience with the pure wilderness. A freshly prepared homemade breakfast or evening snack is served, adding a personal and local touch. After the safari, continue seamlessly to the southern coast—reaching Mirissa, Galle, Ahangama, Hiriketiya, or Tangalle in comfort. Choose from shared, private, sunrise or signature safari options—delivering transformative experiences that generates meaningful value for both local communities and the guests. “Connecting Ella and the South since 2018—a time-efficient transfer built on real value and authenticity.”

Itinerary
Udawalawe National Park spans over 30,000 hectares across Sri Lanka’s southern plains, centered around the shimmering Udawalawe Reservoir — a lifeline that draws hundreds of wild elephants throughout the year. The park’s open grasslands, scrub forests, and distant mountain views create a strikingly beautiful and photogenic landscape. Beyond its famous elephant herds, Udawalawe is home to buffalo, deer, crocodiles, and an impressive variety of birds that thrive in this dry-zone ecosystem. Unlike many national parks around the world that experience seasonal closures or limited sightings, Udawalawe remains vibrant and accessible throughout the year, offering consistent wildlife encounters and one of the most rewarding safari experiences in Sri Lanka.

Amazing service and guide - a must if travelling from Ella
We are extremely satisfied with the service, driver was on time, driving was safe and the Safari was an amazing pause in between. Both driver and guide were very attentive with us. The company seems reliable, it looked like nobody else booked on the day we did and they still provided the service, instead of a shuttle we got a small comfortable car. We saw some comments on the breakfast in other reviews and would like to share that for us it was a generous one with fresh fruits and local sweet and savory Sri Lankan options. We totally recommend!
We had an absolutely unforgettable experience on the Ella to Mirissa shuttle/safari. Even though it was a very early start, it was 100% worth it. A huge thank you to the team for their flexibility—I actually messed up and booked the wrong date, but they were able to reschedule us to the correct day with no problems at all. We were so thankful because this turned out to be a highlight of our holiday. Our safari driver was fantastic and very knowledgeable about the different animals. We never felt rushed; he let us stay and observe the wildlife for as long as we wanted. It was a truly memorable experience and the perfect way to travel between Ella and Mirissa. Highly recommended!
Everything went smooth and on time, we got pick up at the hotel in Ella and drop off at the villa in Mirissa, with a joyful safari experience in between.
This was such a well priced and good tour, combining the transport between Ella and hiriketiya with an amazing safari at udawalawe to see elephants. Both the transport and safari drivers were good, wnd overall we had a great experience. The only let down was that the included breakfast was not very nice, as the pancakes and coconut roti were not very fresh and the banana was very underripe.
Really seamless transit and the safari/guide was excellent. We were in Miriisa by 1pm after safari. Up close with plenty of elephants and other birds/animals. Breakfast was OK but we brought additional supplies.
We had such an amazing time on this tour, everything was perfect. Our driver picked us up on time and drove us to Udawalawe picking up a nice breakfast on the way. We saw so many elephants, some buffalo, a variety of birds - our driver was just as excited as we were and gave us lots of interesting facts. Would definitely recommend. Great use of time if you’re travelling between Ella and the coast.
The transfer was easy and efficient with a tasty breakfast included on the drive. The highlight was of course the safari- the driver/ guide was very knowledgeable and worked hard to ensure we saw as much as possible. We were fortunate to see a large group of elephants which we sat close to for over 20 minutes to watch.
Great experience, saw lots of wildlife! The guide was knowledgeable which added to the experience. A great and easy way to get from Ella to the coast while ticking off a safari too!
The night before, we didn't have driver specifications. The next morning there was a traffic jam on the road, we could not contact the driver. And the tour operator didn't answer the phone. No other groups of elephants seen either, but some very close up
