Amazing experience - Rajouen , our driver, was very knowledgeable and gave us tips on the museum and the amphitheatre itself. Would recommend him highly !!
Wow! What a great experience! Great value for money to see both of those great places! About 5 hours for the whole trip and totally worth it. Great atmosphere at the amphitheatre and the surrounding area. Big group at the amphitheatre but lots of space, not too busy outside. Staff helpful and gave plenty of information when asked. Great for everyone! Our driver Rajouen was the best! He gave us lots of information about the history and culture of Tunisia during the drive and was very helpful answering questions! He recommended a great restaurant and other places to visit in the area. We felt very comfortable for the whole day and would recommend this trip to everyone!
To do absolutely! Impressive amphitheatre, better preserved than the Colosseum of Rome. With the same ticket, access to the mosaic museum: 1 incredible splendor, magnificent mosaics perfectly preserved. Very nice day!
We made a superb excursion to ElJem to discover the amphitheatre, very impressive, and the museum, with magnificent mosaics. Our driver Amin was great, very punctual, very nice, with a modern and comfortable car, we felt reassured which allowed us to enjoy our half day.
To be brutally honest this is overpriced if you are going in more than 1 person, as it means you pay 150+ dollars for a half day tour which would probably just cover 1 of Kairouan or El Jam. Bear in mind this does NOT include guided tour, just driving to and from the place. So you will get it for much less If you just book with a Taxi or with your local hotel probably. The three stars is for the driver who helped us find a local guide free of charge so we end up having a good day with a fair price, otherwise it would not be worth it
Cordialement, L'équipe The Voice Of Freedom
A very good tour. El Jem, The coliseum is outstanding. Our guide, Sami went out of his way to explain the history, historical and cultural context, and also provided a scenic return journey. Highly recommend El Jem, an extensive archaeological site allowing access to all features without fences and/or barriers. Entrance fee included visit to museum as well as coliseum. Con: Even though website offered pickup service, accepted our requested time slot, charged my credit card, and provided a “ticket,” we waited 2 hours and paid an additional fee for pickup. (After purchasing tour, we learned our location was out of pickup area). Note:: pay attention to your footing and note stairs are made of rock and can be uneven.
The booking process was easy. The text came on the day - would’ve been nice to get a text earlier to confirm, but it came eventually. We were met by our driver outside the hotel (he did not get out of the car but that’s ok I guess). He drove us to El Jem and left us alone to look around. He drove us to the museum and waited again. Then he drove us back to the hotel. No problems at all. The amphitheater was spectacular. It was crawling with school kids, climbing on the walls and walking along the top of the ancient structure - I guess they don’t care about health and safety here, or preservation!! Ha! The surrounding area was a typical Middle Eastern dump. Litter everywhere. Constant vying for your attention and patronage which is pretty standard here. Definitely worth the hours drive from our hotel though.
My wife and I went on a full-day tour with Omar. He was a very kind and friendly guide who made sure we felt safe. We saw everything we wanted to see. We highly recommend him!
Absolutely perfect. Our guide was incredibly friendly, helpful, knowledgeable & nothing was too much trouble. I would book this again without hesitation.
We had a wonderful day!!! Depending on our needs, depending on how much time we needed. (What we didn't know before, amphitheater was very impressive, took longer accordingly, in the museum we didn't need quite so much time...). Afterwards we had a quick wish for something to eat, and got a wonderful recommendation with all-round Service regarding interpretation. On the way back we stopped to buy freshly bottled olive oil. The drive over we had very nice, funny conversations and at the same time lots of information about the country. Omar introduced us to Tunisia and its modern way of life. That was a very nice trip! Thank you for that!!! Full recommendation on our part!!!
