Located in Gros, this lively local square will be your first glimpse of everyday life in San Sebastián. Framed by the Church of San Ignacio, bars, and shops, families gather here, just steps from our nearby first tasting stop.
Step into a welcoming family-run bar devoted to traditional Basque flavors. Savor their signature pintxo: grilled mushrooms with rich foie gras and creamy alioli on crusty bread, perfectly paired with a refreshing zurito, the locals’ favorite small draft beer.
Discover a charming neighborhood wine shop in the heart of Gros, known for its local organic wines and beers. Here, enjoy a refreshing non-alcoholic mosto spritzer, build your own Gilda, and taste Gazta Zaharra, a tangy shepherds’ cheese made from leftover Idiazabal chese.
Between the Hotel Maria Cristina and Teatro Victoria Eugenia, discover San Sebastián’s Belle Époque legacy. Nearby, spot the Kursaal and Zurriola Bridge, linking Gros to downtown with river views and surfers heading out to the waves.

Set on the iconic 31 de Agosto Street, one of the oldest streets in San Sebastián, this stop brings you to a beloved local bar that feels like a doorway into the city’s past. Bernardo, its 70-year-old owner, greets visitors with a warm smile and a lifetime of devotion to Basque cuisine. Here you’ll enjoy a special off-the-menu tasting of tender grilled squid with potatoes pintxo, beautifully paired with a glass of Txakoli, a dry white wine from the Basque coast.
Get ready for an authentic Basque cider house experience in the Old Town. You'll taste juicy txuleta steak with salted padrón peppers and catch cider poured straight from the barrel in the traditional txotx ritual!
For a sweet finale, we'll visit the city's oldest pastry shop, open since 1886. Here, you'll taste the original recipe of the iconic pantxineta: a flaky puff pastry filled with rich pastry cream and toasted almonds. You'll take it to go and savor it on the boulevard as the perfect end to your tour.

Incredibly cool food tour of 3 different neighbourhoods in San Sebastian. Kristina our guide was lovely. A resident of 20 years. She showed us a real mix of spots...pinxos, but also different scenes like cider houses and other cool bars. Great knowledge of the history and culture as well. And very relaxed vibe overall. The value for money is amazing. 6 tapas + 6 drinks included along with the tour. And she also gives you a full list of other spots to hit up. Highly recommended!
We had an amazing experience w Ines on a walking food tour of San Sebastián. She was pleasant , were knowledgeable and made the experience wonderful . Excellent way to learn about eating and the restaurant experience in San Sebastián. I am happy my daughter and I did the tour early in our trip. Our guide also provided great information about the town, culture, history and everyday life of the Basque region. Highly recommend!

We took this tour our first night in San Sebastian. We saw 2 areas and 6 food stops. Alaia, our guide was excellent- vivacious, knowledgable, friendly. The food choices were delicious. I highly recommend the tour. It was a highlight.

The best way to see, eat and experience San Sebastián! Ines was a fantastic guide and took us to a great mix of tabernas and outlets across the old and newer parts of town. She was conscientious of food preferences, very accommodating to my (never on time) family, and gave us a memorable experience from start to finish. Brilliant experience and a wonderful opportunity to try the lesser known taberna and menu items, as well as hear about local customs, and history. Highly highly recommend.

We had a wonderful time with Iri on the Beyond Pintxos tour of San Sebastian! Iri is fun, personable, full of positive energy, and really loves this region. We learned so much beyond just the food. The tour started outside of the Old Town and gave us a taste of some very local places. There was a good variety of food and alcoholic drinks and we were all full at the end of tour. And each of the stops were unique with a different vibe. Highlight was grilled squid with Txakoli, one of the best we ever had. We ended at a classic pastry shop whcih was perfect. Highly recommend this tour.
