We enjoyed the food. But...where the locals eat and our tour guide, a beautiful, charming, friendly young woman, was from the Phillipines, not Japanese. She tried hard, but of course, did not know the background, culture or traditions. Sadly, although we enjoyed her company as a person, she was not a Japanese local, as would be expected. The tour was lacking one of the important parts.
The tour was called "Eat Like a Local." Your guide is a local who lives in the area. You booked the tour in English, you spoke to us in English, and every single step of the way was in English. Why would you think that a Japanese person would be giving you the tour? It's hard to know how to respond to such ridiculousness.
We were looking forward to this activity. We were to meet at 4 pm. We waited and then sent a message that we were waiting. The reply was that there was a mixup and the tour was cancelled. Not very pleased with this unprofessional action.
How can you leave a review for the tour you never had - The guide contracted Covid and we are not allowed to send under Japanese law....
Brian was an excellent guide who has a lot of knowledge about the area and Chinatown with some secret gems.
We had a terrific time with Mika. She picked out the best food stops including the best soup dumplings that we ever tasted. Mika accommodated our food preferences. Super fun tour with a super fun guide!
Wonderful tour. We had just arrived the day before and Franchesco picked us up at our hotel. We decided the pace of the tour and were able to experience China town (it is huge!) and many other foodie neighborhoods near our hotel. There is a lot of walking but we took a moderate pace enjoying various food items along the way making it a perfect start to our Yokohama experience.
We thought it was wonderful to meet you too!! Please visit Japan soon!!
