Itinerary
WALLS TOUR: Our meeting point, this is where the guide will meet and greet the guests! Discover the beauty of Dubrovnik while learning about the city’s interesting past on this historical walking tour. Meet your local guide near Pile Gate for a tour of the ancient city walls, a 1.2-mile (2-km) complex structure built in the 14th century that served as defensive structures to protect the city.
After meeting in Pile area, in front of Sky bar, begin the journey through history and through Old Town. Pass the Franciscan Monastery and admire Orlando’s Column, a monument on the Stradun inspired by the city’s long-standing freedom and sovereignty. See, too, Onofrio’s Fountain, built in 1438 at the end of a 8-mile (12-km) aqueduct that gave the city its water supply.
We enter the old town, then head towards the city walls entrance.
We will stop to buy the city walls tickets and then we will walk the city walls. Marvel at the beautiful blue colors of the Adriatic Sea and admire breathtaking views of the port and the Old Town, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, while your guide takes you through the history of the city walls. In the 11th century, the sea channel separating the city from mainland was covered up with earth, so a single wall was built to enclose the present-day Old Town. The city walls have been restored several times in history to resemble their original appearance. With your guide, see Fort Revelin and Minceta Tower within the city walls (entrance fees not included), and learn the strategic position of these forts and their role in Dubrovnik's history. You will also see Fort Lovrijenac in the distance, the only fort that belongs to the city walls but it's physically separated from them, and which you may visit after the tour. As you wander around Dubrovnik's ancient walls, your guide will explain the defensive and political challenges faced by Dubrovnik in the past. Hear stories of the rivalry and conquest Dubrovnik has faced and learn the secrets of how the country used defensive fortifications and diplomacy to remain an independent republic for several years, before ending your tour near the port. *Entrance fee to City Walls not included in price.
The main square of the old town, several stories covered here (St.Blaise's church, Orlando's column, Sponza Palace, Small Onofrio's Fountain, Bell tower...)
Our last stop is in this area
We stop in Brsalje square for a brief summary of the tour, together with some basic point on what we are going to talk about and what we are goindg to see on the tour. We do not enter any facilities.

An excellent overview of the city and walls with a thorough and passionate description by our guide. His enthusiasm for and love of the city and country was informative and entertaining.
This was fantastic. Our guide, Gorn, was full of so much knowledge and was hilarious. He was so generous with his personal stories as well. FYI it can get a little steep at a few points, but I would say people of all ages and fitness levels could do it. Gorn was always considerate of everyone and took rests as needed.
We had a fantastic experience on the Dubrovnik Town and Walls Tour! Our guide, Andrea, was incredibly knowledgeable and brought the city's history to life with fascinating stories and insights. She was also very mindful of the heat, making sure the group stayed comfortable and taking breaks when needed. Andrea went above and beyond by sharing great local recommendations for places to eat and things to do. As a fun bonus, she included some Game of Thrones facts and filming locations. A note for future visitors: the Walls Tour is a bit strenuous, with many steps to climb and very little shade in some areas, so wear comfortable shoes, bring water, and be prepared for a workout. Overall, this tour was one of the highlights of our time in Dubrovnik, and we highly recommend it—especially if you have Andrea as your guide!
Dear Fabfivetrips, Your review made our day! Thank you so much for your kind words and for joining our tour. Kind regards, Dubrovnik Walks Team
Goran was an incredible guide! If you go, make sure to ask for him. He was clearly so knowledgeable about everything! Not only that, but he was funny and clearly enjoyed his job. He encouraged questions and always had an answer

Book in the evening for sure to avoid some of the summer heat and bring water. The Wall tour was my favorite of the two with stunning views of the city and surrounding countryside.
Our guide Gorun was outstanding. He was very informative and gave a great overview of Dubrovnik. Definitely tour the walls in the morning while the weather is not as hot.
The Dubrovnik City Walls are absolutely worth experiencing. The panoramic views of the Old Town, the Adriatic Sea, and the surrounding coastline are breathtaking and make for an unforgettable walk. Be sure to bring water and wear comfortable shoes, especially during the warmer months. At €40 per person, however, we did feel the admission price was a bit steep. You can pay an additional €10 for the Dubrovnik Pass, which includes access to several museums and other attractions. In our opinion, the extra value wasn’t significant enough since it doesn’t include many major attractions. That said, if you plan on using Dubrovnik’s public buses during your stay, the pass may be worthwhile because it includes unlimited bus transportation. Overall, despite the price, the incredible views and unique perspective of Dubrovnik make the city walls a must-do when visiting the city.
Goran was a fantastic tour guide, provided us with a wealth of knowledge on the history of Dubrovnik and the Wall. Every considerate to keep us in the shade when possible as well.
