Osaka Bar Hopping: Drink Like an Osakan in Namba's Izakayas
Description
Namba at night has a version tourists rarely see: narrow alleys, standing bars the size of a closet, izakayas that have been serving the same regulars for decades. This tour gets you into that version, with two drinks included so you're tasting from the first stop. Your guide picks the route based on the night, some bars are better early, some don't get good until later, and knows the owners well enough to get you seated somewhere a walk-in tourist wouldn't get past the door. Expect a mix of sake, local craft beer, highball, and whatever the bar is known for. What makes this different: we keep groups small on purpose. A twenty-person bar crawl can't fit into a six-seat izakaya, we can, and that's the point. Good fit for: travelers who want a real night out, not a photo-op crawl between chain bars. Your first stop, a standing bar tucked into Namba's back alleys where regulars have been drinking for decades. Order what you like and chat with the Osakans through your guide. Get 2 welcome drinks here to start your night, everything after that is pay-as-you-go.
A counter bar everyone in Namba walks past without noticing. Locals know better. Order whatever the guy next to you is having, chat with the bartender, and get a feel for a place where nobody's performing for tourists.
Wrap up the night at a hidden bar tucked right next to Dotonbori. Try local sake, or better yet, the famous Obanzai. Ever heard of it? If not, that's exactly why you should join us, we'll let your guide explain it over a drink.

Kenji was a brilliant tour guide. He knew all the best local bars which was awesome. Not to mention all the hidden gems Kenji spoke to us about which is a must add to your Japan trip. The experience was amazing. It was great seeing which bars locals go as well as seeing how popular some of these places were. It lasted the perfect amount of time to then allow us to explore the night life in Osaka by our selves. 10/10 would book again.

Our guide Satsuki was fantastic guide!! She was very engaging and attentive. She took me some Izakaya where I wouldn’t have able to find!
