Drakensberg/Mandela Capture site

Great day. It started with a hiking trail at Monks Cowl that was customized to me, lots of great photos. Next was the Mandela Capture site. The site was better than I expected because it had a nice little museum along with the sculpture. The last stop was at Howick Falls, it’s just a short walk through a bunch of souvenir stands. My driver/guide (Mzhew) made the trip very comfortable and gave me plenty of time at the museum and on the hike.

Totally awful. Look elsewhere . Complete waste of £176

Awful trip . I recommend you look elsewhere. For the price I paid certainly wasn’t the worth the money I paid. The “guide” wasn’t a guide all he was a driver. The car he picked me up in was awful, looked like it needed to be scrapped. It was so uncomfortable specially with the long drive. We were supposed to do a hike and all I had was an hour. No stops for lunch etc. A total waste of money. Would have been cheaper to hire a car and drive there myself.

We are shocked that client experienced such. We have received very good reviews on this tour. The vehicle used was in very good condition with properly working aircon etc.... This is a properly trained experienced guide. Yes the journey is long.

Wonderful trip to Mandela and the Drakensberg

The day tour with the guides from Durban Travel was great. On the way to the stunningly beautiful Drakensberg, we stopped at the impressive waterfalls in Howick, then visited the Nelson Mandela Museum and admired the huge Mandela portrait. After that, we continued up to the Drakensberg to enjoy the landscape and take a short hike to the rock paintings in the caves in the nature park. The guides were extremely knowledgeable and very funny. During the trip, we talked about culture and politics and had a lot of fun trying out the Zulu click language. We were able to gain great and interesting new insights, felt safe and looked after, and saw and learned a lot. The company is highly recommended, also because it is run by locals who simply know a lot about their homeland and their origins.
