Doughnuts and Coffee Bike Tour: Local Secrets

Description
Portland is justly famous for both its craft roasted coffee and its doughy sweets -- ride and explore in a 4-6 mile bike tour. 10 a.m. daily. Bike, helmet, one doughnut and one coffee included! At our shop at 833 SE Main Street #124, we are also in the literal center of Portland’s craft coffee roasting icons (three of the city’s best roasters surround our block). We'll begin with coffee, tea or hot cocoa at a shop that roasts its own beans, and sample some single-origin coffee so we'll be ready for lots of sweets to come. The itinerary will vary based on shop hours and customer tastes, but we'll always tell the story of Voodoo Donuts. We'll always stop at at least two doughnut shops and one or two coffee shop depending on the group. Portland’s doughnut scene isn’t just about eating pastries; it’s also about the culture that makes it possible. Did you know the doughnut-loving Homer Simpson was based off a Portlander? Which came first, the Homer doughnut or the city’s doughnut boom?

At the shop, we'll fit you for a bike and helmet and introduce you to the city's doughnut and coffee scene
After taking off from the shop, we'll ride into Ladd's Addition, a pretty neighborhood designed in a labyrinth stylE. In the Ladd's Addition neighborhood is the heart of the original food cart scene and we'll set the scene by trying some of our favorite coffee and discussing our route for the day.

We'll visit the Broadway District and tell you the story of one of the origins of the doughnut craze in Portland
On the days Blue Star is open (pandemic hours vary), we'll visit this donut shop meant to create a style of pastry better fit for those used to more of a culinary than a convenience store experience for doughnuts. If Blue Star is not open, we have a great replacement!

Fun way to see a groovy Portland neighborhood. Our guide was enjoyable to be with, sharing interesting insights into the donut shops and the vibrant neighborhoods.
Loved it! We had a great time with Sarah! We enjoyed the ride through Portland neighboorhoods and the doughnuts!
Kelly is AMAZING! We did another tour with her last year and did the donut and coffee tour this time around. She is a great conversationalist and took us to multiple cute spots in the city!
Really fun Portland neighborhood! Plan to stick around after your tour as there is much more to explore and eat. Sarah was an excellent well-informed guide.
Terrific tour. Well-paced & informative. Good coffee & delicious doughnuts, what a great idea to include this while biking through nice neighborhoods. Kelly was a great tour guide.
Kelly was the best! Made the experience so much better. Had us laughing the whole time! Will be back!
Amazing tour, Kelly was so friendly and took us to some amazing places. Biking around the neighborhoods was great, seeing the area, houses and gardens was so pretty. Would recommend this tour!
This was so much fun. Kelly was a great guide and a a lovely person to spend the morning with. The roads were very quite which was great for me as a nervous cyclist and all the stops were great
What fun! The donuts were delicious and the guide had so many good stories and recommendations about the city. Even though we focused on treats, coffee and the bike ride, I feel like I got such an amazing overview of the city as well. It was a good thing to do early in my trip, as I got a lot of great ideas about more.
I enjoyed this mellow bike ride around the different south-east neighbourhoods sampling some unique coffee and donuts.
