Great trip just be wary of food

Trip is good value until you go for your meal. Toilet is only useable in desperation. No flush only cold water and no lockable door. Food is not hygienic, flies land on it, chicken is dry and hard. Fish is uncovered and fruit the same. People lovely but be wary especially if you are British as you could end up ill.

Operator response

Thank you for your feedback. We’re glad you enjoyed the trip and the team’s hospitality. We sincerely apologize for the issues with the food and facilities and take your concerns seriously. Your comments will help us improve hygiene and comfort for future guests. We appreciate you traveling with Explore PhotoTrip.

Good experience

Very prompt pick up and drop off from the hotel. We saw a few dolphins at one point next to the boat. Snorkeling was very good. We saw lots of interesting fish. Actually, the whole experience was snorkeling and lunch. It took the whole day but the rest was driving. The lunch which was served in my opinion was tasty and enough portions. We had options: chicken, fish or vegetables. To be honest extras seafood offered was not worthed the money. I recommend people to wear beach rubber sandals as we had to walk a lot to the beach and the corrals were very sharp. Few people cut their legs. Also the boats left us in the water and we had to walk thru the water to the place where lunch was served.that was everything. Overall the tour was OK but do not expect too much.

Operator response

Thank you for sharing your detailed feedback! We’re glad you enjoyed the dolphin sightings, snorkeling, and lunch. Your tips about footwear and coral safety are very helpful for future guests. We’ll review the extra seafood pricing and logistics to enhance the overall experience. Appreciate your honesty! 🌊🐬

A lot of travelling not a lot of snorkelling

It took a long time to get to the island, both by van then by boat. We spent five hours getting there. We did not see any dolphins on the way, coming or going. The snorkelling was fantastic, but we only got about 45 minutes of it before we had to leave for lunch. The lunch was decent. The guides were happy to accommodate my request for a tour of a local cave where slaves were held on there way to the slave market in Zanzibar. That tour was excellent too. Overall it was a good day, but we wasted a lot of time at the dock transferring from the van to the boat, time which would have been better used for more snorkelling, and also at the restaurant after we had finished eating, which would have been better used to get us home in a more timely manner. As it was we got home at 8 pm.

Operator response

Thank you so much for sharing your detailed feedback with us. We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed the snorkeling experience at Kisite Marine Park and that the visit to the historical slave cave on Wasini Island was a meaningful part of your day. We’re truly sorry to hear that the long transfers, wait times, and limited snorkeling time left you feeling that parts of the day were not as smooth or efficient as they could have been. While travel to Kisite does require both road and boat transfers, we understand how valuable your time is and we’re actively working with our local partners to streamline logistics so that guests can spend more time in the water and less time waiting. We also regret that dolphins did not appear during your trip, as sightings are never guaranteed, but we always hope for that special moment for every guest. Your comments about the timing after lunch and the late return are very valuable to us. We’ll be reviewing our scheduling and coordination to ensure future experiences are better balanced between relaxation, exploration, and timely return. Thank you once again for choosing to explore with us. We’re delighted you still found it to be a good day overall, and we’d love to welcome you again for another adventure—perhaps one where we can show you even more of Kenya’s marine treasures. Warm regards, The Explore PhotoTrip Team

Poor service

Always have extra cash in hand, for water and carry along your food… Every activity was good but I got pissed and angry when I was asked to pay for water after eating, my cellphone died, I couldn’t use mpesa.

Operator response

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience with us. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the activities at Kisite Marine Park and Wasini Island. We’re very sorry to learn about the frustration you faced when asked to pay for water after lunch. While bottled water is usually not included with meals at the island restaurant, we completely understand how inconvenient it must have felt, especially when your phone had died and you couldn’t use M-Pesa. Your feedback is very important, and we’ll use it to work with our local partners to make this clearer in advance so that guests can be better prepared. We truly appreciate you joining us for this adventure and hope to welcome you again for an even smoother and more enjoyable trip. Warm regards, The Explore PhotoTrip Team

Amazing Dolphin 🐬 Tour & Snorkeling 🤿 in Wasini!

I had an amazing time on the dolphin tour and snorkeling trip to Wasini! Seeing dolphins up close was unforgettable, and the crystal-clear waters made snorkeling an absolute joy. The vibrant coral reefs and colorful fish were breathtaking. The crew was professional, friendly, and made sure everyone had a great time. We also enjoyed a delicious Swahili lunch on Wasini Island, which was the perfect end to the day. This tour is a must-do if you're in Diani – truly an unforgettable adventure!

OK, but not what www were promised.

Lovely people who tried their very best for us. Could not fault their friendliness and helpfulness. However there were only 2 dolphins seen on the whole trip, none in the swimming area so should not be called a swim with the dolphins tour. The coral that we snorkelled at was dead or dying so not very interesting. Hard to control nature of course, but they need to set better expectations. Underpromise and over deliver rather than over promising and under delivering.

Thank you for sharing your honest feedback with us. We truly appreciate your kind words about our team’s friendliness and helpfulness—it means a lot to know you felt well cared for. We’re very sorry to hear that the experience did not fully meet your expectations. As you rightly pointed out, dolphin sightings and the condition of coral reefs are aspects of nature that we cannot control, and sometimes they can be unpredictable. That said, you’ve highlighted something very important: setting clear expectations. We take your advice seriously and will make sure to better communicate what guests can realistically expect, so that any special sightings or highlights feel like wonderful bonuses. We value your input and will continue working with our local partners to provide the best possible experience while being transparent about what’s included. Thank you again for traveling with us—we hope to welcome you back for an adventure that exceeds your expectations next time. Warm regards, The Explore PhotoTrip Team

Dolphin watching and boatride were nice; unfortunately some bad business practices and bad attitudes leaves a foul taste

Dolphins watching and the boatride were nice. Bottled water was advertised as included. Instead, before arriving we were brought to a tourist trap and had to buy our own expensive water. During lunch the restaurant “had ran out of water” so we had no choice but to buy our own juices which offcourse costs extra. Staff during lunch at Wasini was very unfriendly and inhospitable. The man who ferried us from the boat to the restaurant and back was aggressively begging and hassling every individual for “tips”.

Operator response

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed the dolphin watching and the boat ride, but we are very sorry that other parts of the experience left you disappointed. Your concerns about bottled water, additional costs, the hospitality at the restaurant, and the behavior of the ferry staff are very important to us. This is not the standard we strive for, and we sincerely apologize for the frustration this caused. We are already addressing these issues with our local partners to ensure greater transparency on what is included, improved guest service at the restaurant, and proper guidance for staff regarding respectful interactions. We truly value your input, as it helps us improve and provide a better experience for future guests. Thank you again for choosing to travel with us, and we hope to have the opportunity to host you on a smoother and more enjoyable trip in the future. Warm regards, The Explore PhotoTrip Team

No dolphins

No dolphins. To pick up some people took 1h. So to pick up everyone it took around 4h, and to come back it took around 4h and I was the first and last one. I was sitting all the time in the hot car without air conditioner. Because of all this crowd we picked up very far from the main road we arrived very late. And the captain of the boat said it's too late we will notgo to see the dolphins. So what happened - I paid 100$ to see dolphins, and they did everything not to let me see them. But what they did - they asked for tips, what kind of tips if nothing was done. I arrived home very tired, with bad mood, lost money and time of my vaccation. If you wanna see dolphings don't take a trip, rent a transport by your own in early morning (6am) and rent a seat in a boat. Don't make my mistake don't trust other people. It will be much cheaper and more comfortable. 8h in a car without airconditioner is not the best things in this world.

Thank you for taking the time to share such detailed feedback. We’re truly sorry to hear that your experience did not meet expectations, and we sincerely regret the discomfort and frustration you faced. The long transfers, delays in pickups, and lack of air conditioning in the vehicle clearly made the journey unpleasant, and we understand how disappointing it must have been not to see dolphins after such a tiring day. While dolphin sightings are never guaranteed, it should never feel as though the chance was missed due to scheduling or logistics. Your comments about timing, transport, and expectations are very important, and we are reviewing this with our team and local partners to ensure that guests have a smoother, more comfortable experience going forward. We also take seriously your feedback regarding requests for tips. Tipping should always be optional, discreet, and never leave guests feeling pressured. We will be addressing this directly with the crew to ensure professionalism at all times. We greatly value your input and are committed to making improvements so future travelers enjoy the beautiful Kisite Marine Park without the issues you experienced. Please accept our sincere apologies once again. Warm regards, The Explore PhotoTrip Team
