Discover Vietnam's Coffee Culture.

Description
There are 2 activities about coffee that I will share with you: #1 • “Coffee cupping section”: You will experience how to taste coffee like a professional by joining a coffee cupping section of 5 different types of coffee beans and I will explain more about each coffee bean’s quality. I will also show you some basic coffee information just like wine (such as origin of coffee bean, varieties of coffee, processing method, roasting level, ...) After that, you will understand more about coffee and Vietnamese coffee bean. #2 • “Make cà phê sữa đá by yourself!” I will tell you about history of coffee in Vietnam, how coffee came to us, how it affects our daily life and how Vietnamese coffee with condensed milk became our iconic drink. Then, you will follow my instruction to make Vietnamese traditional coffee - “Cà phê sữa đá”.

Thi is so knowledgeable and presented the history and process of coffee thoroughly and introduced us to the unique story of Vietnam's coffee industry. Her coffee shop is so beautiful and the presentation was perfect. We loved being able to watch her process and then follow to make our own while getting a good understanding of the details of the steps involved. Also, the coffee was delicious!
My friend and I enjoyed the experience. Although we booked and expected a group it was only us which was great as it was basically a private personal experience. It was great to understand the traditional Vietnamese coffee origins and local coffee products. Highly recommend any coffee lovers to take a different experience and learn about traditional Vietnamese coffee.
I highly recommend this activity, both for those with a passing interest in coffee in Vietnam as well as those who want to learn from an expert. Thi (our guide) had a knowledge of coffee that was truly impressive - a sommelier for the bean if there ever was one. It was great to discuss the tasting notes of different coffees and see how the flavor profile evolves over temperature and stage of the brewing process. The venue (Grandmum Cafe) is off the main road and is a lovely and peaceful spot to relax and chat with someone who is clearly passionate about her business. A highlight of our trip!
This was a fantastic way to spend my morning! Thi was a wonderful host and has a true hidden gem. Her shop is a bit hard to find, so make sure you reach out ahead of time. Once there, I was blown away by the variety of coffee she has. I learned more about the two main varietals and then learned how to cup the coffee. She was kind and understanding as I attempted (and failed, I'm sure) to adequately describe the aromas and tastes of the various blends. Then, she carefully explained each in turn, validated some of my thoughts, and supplied more along the way. Getting to make my own coffee from scratch was a great way to end. Very fun, very cozy, very worthwhile
this experience was our highlight of the visit in this city - truly the best - and coffee is sooooo good - service, atmosphere and most of all lovely young people who work there are charming, warm and very informative - we would love to recommend it to everyone very highly - once again many thanks you made us feel very welcome
