Itinerary

30 min

The energy bunker in Wilhelmsburg is an impressive example of sustainable urban development. Originally built as a World War II bunker, it has become a symbol of change and the energy transition. Today it houses an innovative power generation facility that uses renewable energy. The energy bunker produces electricity and heat from solar energy and biomass. There are solar panels on its roof that generate clean electricity. In addition, biomass is burned in a combined heat and power plant to generate additional energy. This sustainable energy supply covers part of the needs of the surrounding buildings and contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions. The bunker itself has been transformed into an architectural masterpiece.

30 min

The old Elbe tunnel in Hamburg is a historic landmark that takes visitors back in time. It was opened in 1911 and was a technical masterpiece at the time. Today the tunnel is not only a transport connection between the banks of the Elbe, but also a popular tourist attraction. With its cast-iron stairs and charming flair, the tunnel exudes nostalgic charm. A walk under the Elbe offers a unique view of the passing ships and the hustle and bustle on the water.

30 min

The Hafencity in Hamburg is a modern and dynamic district that combines architectural beauty and urban diversity. Hafencity attracts locals and visitors alike with its futuristic skyline, sleek residential buildings and stunning public spaces. Here you will not only find ultra-modern office buildings, but also cultural institutions, gastronomic highlights and a lively harbor promenade.

30 min

The Speicherstadt in Hamburg is an architectural jewel and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. With its distinctive red brick facades and winding waterways, it is one of the largest historic warehouse complexes in the world. The Speicherstadt stretches along the Elbe and is famous for its warehouses, which were once used to store spices, coffee and tea. Today, the Speicherstadt is home to a fascinating mix of museums, galleries, restaurants and shops. Here you can explore the history of the Hanseatic city, admire contemporary art, enjoy first-class cuisine or buy souvenirs. The Speicherstadt is also home to Miniatur Wunderland, one of Germany's most popular tourist attractions, where you can admire a detailed miniature world.

Insolvent since 2023 /faketouren Still bookable....

Unfortunately, this tour was indicated as still current to book via a large hotel reservation page. Gone to the meeting point with confirmation and exact instructions. All surprisingly disappointed only afterwards as an insolvent company since 2023. Unfortunately, I had relied on the current hotel reservation page. However, the written support immediately wrote to me. The lost experience is unfortunately much more painful than the money. It's a lesson for the future.

Individual and nostalgic

Individual tour with a retro bullie through Hamburg: Altona, Landungsbrücken, Speicherstadt, St. Pauli. You will learn some inside news about Hamburg, which may not be so well known. Very friendly guide, in between there is a cold drink of your choice. Great alternative to the big buses with audio guide.

Bankruptcy and debt - The owner seems to be making off with the money

The place is broke and owes us. No repayment of overpaid benefits has taken place to date. The owner trumpets his corporate management skills around the area on the social network, but can't even handle such a small company cleanly.

Positive and perfect!

It was a company outing back then (summer 2016) and it was more than a success. Everything was tailored to our wishes. Simply perfect and unforgettable. All colleagues were absolutely thrilled. Some of them later went on a private trip with Waterkant Tours. The guys and girls were absolutely brilliant. I can't even tell you how many times I've told friends and acquaintances about the tour. Reading that the startup at the time has now had to file for bankruptcy really hurts my soul. You can see that in the reviews. Since then, there have only been negative reviews. Of course, I completely understand those who booked when they don't see their money again. Oh man, all in all, that's extremely unpleasant and I'm so sorry. The idea was brilliant back then and the implementation was successful. Maybe there will be a bright spot on the horizon in the future and an opportunity will arise to revive this company..? I'm keeping my fingers crossed for everyone, both the guys and girls from Waterkant Tours and those who have to experience anything but that instead of a great tour. Well, we are all living in difficult times and it can happen to anyone, except those whose pockets are full. Let's be aware of that. All the best to you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Absolute flop - keep your hands off this provider!

I booked this tour as a team outing for our department in December. We had to pay €550 in advance in September. On the day of the event itself, the tour was cancelled in the morning by the organiser, allegedly due to a lack of staff due to illness. Since then, we have been chasing our money in vain. All of our inquiries in this regard have simply been ignored and no one can be reached by phone. As the comments of other users show, this business practice is not that unusual at Waterkant-Tours. I strongly advise caution: the start-up company that appears to be so hip, modern and friendly on its website is not a reputable provider - just keep your hands off it!

Never again - no cooperation/communication with the organizer possible after cancellation

The Waterkant Tour was canceled at short notice by the organizer on the day of the event (December 1st, 2023) due to illness. This was supposed to be a company Christmas party. We could decide whether we wanted to postpone the tour or have the costs reimbursed. We decided to have the costs reimbursed. We are still waiting for the reimbursement. Direct communication is not possible, and there has been no response to our inquiries about where the money is. We have already threatened to get a lawyer. Even then, nothing has happened. It's a shame, because we were really looking forward to a Christmas tour through the Hafencity. As in some other reviews, there are apparently always problems with reimbursement when a tour is canceled.

Great city tour through the south of Hamburg!

Super great tour through the south of Hamburg, including areas that aren't included in other sightseeing tours! Our guide was really great, explained a lot and also showed us a few things that weren't actually included in the tour. We would do it again and again!
