Delft, 16th century. You wake up in the street with a bump on your head and blue porcelain fragments scattered around you. The tulip vase you were making for the Royal family is gone. You know who did it: the Pottery Pigeons. And you are going to get it back. This self-guided mystery quest takes you on a walk through the historic heart of Delft. Using the Questo app on your smartphone, you follow the blue porcelain trail at 11 stops: from the Eastern Gate through the Koornmarkt canals, past the Gothic Saint Hippolytus Chapel and the Renaissance City Hall on Market Square, to the Nieuwe Kerk and the Vermeer Centrum, through the Old Church and the Museum Prinsenhof where William of Orange was killed, and on to Windmill de Roos. The eastern gate in Delft, Netherlands, is an example of Brick Gothic northern European architecture that was built around 1400. The Old Church is considered to have been founded in 1246, when Count William II gave the industrial little city of Delft its own charter. The Prinsenhof in the city of Delft in the Netherlands is an urban palace built in the Middle Ages as a monastery. Later it served as a residence for William the Silent. The route, but especially the assignments were disappointing: a sign was missing, from 1 to 2 was not a nice route and there was little variation in the assignments. Not recommended.

Super fun and educational to do. However, I had bought 5 tickets for our 5 family members but with 1 ticket I would have made it too. That feels kind of like money-knocking. Luckily I had bought via social deal and paid half the original price.

Visited Delft whilst spending a few days in Amsterdam, what a charming town it is, easy to walk around, boat ride on the Canal, lots of charming eating places with good quality food, would love to return one day.

The route itself made no sense, we couldn’t get further than 20% (with help). The instructions were not clear and most of the buildings/gates/bridges we needed to find were nowhere to be seen. The storyline itself was fun, and enjoyable.
