Day Trip to Zaandam Lego Village, Zaanse Schans and Giethoorn

This full day tour brings you to three places, which are Zaanse Schans, Lego Village and Giethoorn. In the morning, you would visit a Dutch cheese factory, a wooden shoe factory and enjoy a royal diamond demonstration at Zaanse Schans; After that we will travel Zaandam City Center to see the famous 'Lego' building, You will have free time here to take photos as many as possible, or just walk around in the 'Lego' Village. After that, you will travel to Giethoorn, you would discover the 'Green Venice' of Holland and enjoy one hour free boat cruise in Giethoorn. This 10 hours experience gives you a relaxed, memorable and enjoyable tour with lots of beautiful photos.The tour offers free hotel pick-up service in Amsterdam. Bottled water, power bank, umbrella are provided during whole trip.

You would expect to have following activities on our tour at Zaanse Schans. you would have a Dutch cheese factory tour, to understand how to make cheese in the traditional way. You could taste more than 30 different types of cheese here. After that, we will take you to a wooden shoe factory tour. You would watch a live demonstration of making wooden shoe by a traditional clog maker. After that you would have a private Royal Amsterdam Diamond tour, to know the history of diamond, and enjoy the diamond with 268 cuts. Of course you would have your own free time to get close to the windmills and take photos.
This attraction is the first stop at Zaanse Schans. As described above, you would experience this old cheese farm/factory, to have a private tour of how to make traditional dutch cheese, get to know the history of this cheese farm, and cheese tasting with more than 30 different flavors.
At this attraction, you would expect to see a live demonstration of making wooden shoe by traditional clog makers, get to know the history of wooden shoes, and see different types of wooden shoes. You could have wooden shoes try-on here with different colors. Of course you can take as many photos as you want.
After Zaanse Schans, you will travel to Zaandam City Center to see the famous 'Lego' building, You will have free time here to take photos as many as possible, or just walk around in the 'Lego Village'.
In the afternoon, you would explore the ‘Little Venice’ of the Netherlands. You will enjoy about 3 hours here to explore the sights by yourself and your loved ones. we include 1 hour traditional boat cruise here. But if you want, you could drive boat by yourself, that would have more fun with your family or friends. Self boat ride will have an upgraded price, please ask it on site.

Giethoorn was way worth the trip but we would skip the other two locations. Tourist trap kind of locations. Also know the bus is packed and very hot so the two 1.5 hour drives are miserable.
This was a great experience. Simon, our tour guide Very informative and so much fun. I specifically enjoyed the cheese tastings! I highly recommend this tour.
First and foremost I want to recognize our outstanding tour guild Kai! The man was polite, funny and informative! Giethoorn was our first stop. It was by far the most beautiful stop on the tour. Started with a relaxing boat ride through the town then some free time to explore the town on our own. Then we made a quick stop for some photos in Lego Village. On to our last stop in Zaandam where we seen some windmills and how cheese and wooden shoes are made. Had some free time to walk around the town on our own. Overall fantastic experience! Highly recommended!
The guide was very kind and informative. He was patient with the entire group and gave great tips to eat and sights to see after the tour as well
Erik did an amazing job getting us to the different locations. He showed us a less busy canal route in Giethoorn, which was really appreciated due to the wind and number of people. His knowledge of the waterways there was above many, as he used to live there, and we saw several other boats crash/run into the sides of the canal. Great job overall!
Reinier was a great guide with lots of information and very prepared no matter what happened. The tour was as great as I Hope, very beautiful places to see!
Absolutely excellent day trip! Our guide Kai was knowledgeable, detailed, and right on time. He made the whole experience smooth and enjoyable, and the stops at Zaandam, Zaanse Schans, and Giethoorn were all wonderful. Highly recommend this tour for anyone wanting to see the best of the Dutch countryside in one day!
Kai was a great guide. He was so knowledgeable on Amsterdam, along with all the many stops on our tour. Also he was very humorous and ensured everyone in our tour group felt welcomed and enjoyed their time together. I’d highly recommend him as a tour guide.
What an amazing experience - I don’t think I will ever forget this magical day! I wasn’t sure what to expect but it exceeded my expectations. The canal ride through Gierthoon was my favourite part, it seemed right out of a storybook. We were able to cover a lot of places and experiences within the time frame and were dropped off before 6pm which I really appreciated. Kai was organized, knowledgeable, humorous and I highly recommend you pick him as a guide if you have the option to. We were a great group and I will miss them!
We went on this tour with Simon, he was so fun and super knowledgeable about the areas we toured. He shared interesting facts and gave us plenty of time to explore. Definitely recommend taking this tour with Simon.
