If you want to see the Statue, I recommend going from Vadodara. It takes almost 4 hours drive each way from Ahmedabad to spend a around 2 hours at the site. Also, the communication with the operator is very poor. The driver, who didn’t speak much english just dropped me off at the site and there was no guide waiting for me and no information where to find him. The employees just kept sending me elsewhere and at the help desk, they told me, a guide would come, but he never showed up. I waited for almost 1,5 hours, in the end on of the help desk employees who spoke some english made a quick excursion for me. I paid $140 just for the transfer and the basic ticket without any guide service, water and snacks were also not available.
This tour went to a great and interesting place, but it will come at a cost. It is very expensive. It says water and snacks included. All I got was a small bottle that was smaller than my hand and they did NOT provide any snacks. I had to purchase my own food. It was a 3 hour drive to the location and the driver was VERY aggressive. He seemed to be in a rush and I did NOT feel safe. When I got there there was confusion with my ticket and it took over an hour to get it sorted out. It was an unnecessary delay for something an experienced tour company should not have. I was traveling alone and there was no need for this delay. The guide was polite and knowledgeable. It seems the price was not worth it. Nice location, but they could do better.
