Itinerary
When visiting Karnak, you are paying a visit to the heart of Egypt during the New Kingdom. This huge temple complex was the center of the ancient faith while power was concentrated at Thebes (modern day Luxor) and its significance is reflected in its enormous size. In addition to its religious significance, it also served as a treasury, administrative center, and palace for the New Kingdom pharaohs. It is considered as the largest temple complex ever constructed anywhere in the world. It developed over a period of 1500 years, added to by generation after generation of pharaohs and resulting in a collection of temples, sanctuaries, pylons, and other decorations that is unparalleled throughout Egypt.
This temple might be the greatest testament to why Luxor has earned its nickname, “The World’s Largest Outdoor Museum”. Luxor Temple is located in the modern city of Luxor, which is built on the site of the ancient Egyptian capital of Thebes. The temple is one of the best-preserved of all of the ancient monuments with large amounts of structure, statuary and relief carvings still intact, making it one of the most impressive visits in the Luxor area and all of Egypt, adding significantly to its allure is the juxtaposition that its setting provides. The modern city begins on one side and the Nile drifts by on the other. There are few places in Egypt where one is put so immediately and clearly in touch with the extraordinary length of Egypt’s history.
At first glance, the Valley of the Kings, also known as the Valley of the Gates of the Kings, seems like no more than a sun-blasted gorge of generic red rock, but underneath all of its dust lay the tombs of 63 of the most important pharaohs in the history of Ancient Egypt. Used as a burial chamber for nearly 500 years from the 16th to 11th century BC, Discovered by Howards Carter in an excavation expedition in 1922, one of the most important tombs found in the Valley of the Kings is the tomb of Pharaoh Tutankhamun and all of his treasures. The Valley of the Kings is located on the west bank of the Nile River near Luxor. It is the most famous site for having unique collections of tombs and breathtaking ancient ruins.
In terms of visual impact from afar, there is no rival to Hatshepsut’s Temples. The unique multi-tiered structure nestled up against the limestone cliffs at the shoulder of the river valley is a truly stunning sight. The uniqueness of its layout mirrors that of the pharaoh responsible for building it. Hatshepsut was the only female pharaoh in the history of Ancient Egypt. She came to power during the New Kingdom after the death of her father, Tuthmose I, and her half-brother and husband, Tuthmose II, who succeeded her father on the throne.

Khaled Zain is an excellent guide, very kind, knows a lot, and is a friend, Habiby.
We had a very good experience with this tour operator, which proved to be reliable, well-organized, and punctual throughout the trip. A key added value was our guide in Luxor, Sayed Selim, who was extremely knowledgeable and professional. Sayed has a deep understanding of ancient Egyptian history and is able to explain complex topics in a clear and engaging way, without ever being overwhelming. During the visits to the temples and the Valley of the Kings, he provided historical, religious, and political context that truly helped us understand what we were seeing, not just observe it. We also appreciated his availability to answer questions and his flexibility in adapting the pace of the visits to the group’s needs. His experience, passion, and respect for Egypt’s heritage were evident throughout. I highly recommend this tour operator and strongly suggest requesting Sayed Selim as a guide in Luxor — he genuinely makes a difference.
Let me just start off by saying that Mohamed Maher is easily one of the best tour guides I’ve had so far I’ve done a lot of travelling the energy he brings his characteristics and the knowledge he brings to the table is unbelievable. We did a fortnight Nile cruise which was perfect from start to finish. The tombs and temples we visited was breathtaking. Every brick has a story to tell and Mohamed knowledge is unbelievable he knows the history like the back of his hand from the street vendors harassing us and trying to rip us off. He stepped in and saved us from getting ripped off and told them to stop harassing us as they are very pushy at times ,My mother was feeling quite ill at night around 9pm . He went over and above to take her to the pharmacy to help her even when I got stuck at Cairo Airport I messaged him even though the tour was over but he still was kind enough to help me get through and told me what terminal I had to go to if I could give it a 11 out of 10 I would he’s a bloody legend! Love from Australia.
Our Egyptologist in Luxor, Hany Refaat was outstanding—knowledgeable, engaging, and genuinely passionate about Egyptian history. He didn’t just share facts; he told stories that made the temples and tombs come alive, especially his fascinating insights into Hatshepsut and her extraordinary reign, which made me quite the fan ☺️. He was also very flexible and thoughtful, always checking in and tailoring the experience to what we enjoyed most. A perfect balance of expertise and warmth—highly recommended!
Optimum quality tour in organization and a luxury guide in Spanish, instructed, attentive. John was not only a guide but also a teacher in Egyptian culture
Luxor ; the dessert fruit ; we arrived by cruise ; sincerely extraordinary everything lived and known ; I never thought I would see so much history together Mention apart our guide Yahya Gizawy (Juan) his professionalism to tell and explain each thing in the most detailed way and his quality of person made our trip into something wonderful. Thank you.
I did the Tour with Memphis and it was all excellent. Security from the reception already at the airport landing in Cairo until the last day. Very safe drivers. The guides, Nasser and Amro, exceeded my expectations. All the details very well explained, each visit a true lesson of history. I recommend.
We had the absolute pleasure of touring Aswan to Luxor with Ahmed Awad, and he was nothing short of amazing. From the start, Ahmed felt like family. Our conversations were thoughtful and engaging, and his fluent English made everything so easy to understand. He is a walking encyclopedia when it comes to hieroglyphics and ancient Egyptian history – truly a wealth of knowledge. We experienced Ahmed both as a group guide and a private guide, and he shines in both roles. He was respectful and courteous, when navigating local markets, always looking out for us and making sure we had the best experience possible. We trusted him completely, and his guidance made our trip smoother, more enriching, and incredibly memorable. Thank you, Ahmed! We wish you all the best in everything you do – and we will never forget : Yalla Bina!
Excellent tour guided by Egyptologist Juan Elgizawy! Highly recommended! He also gave us explanations in all the temples of Luxor!
