It is located in Abydos city about 420 km to the south of Cairo in Sohag Government, and 135 km from Luxor . The paintings of the Gods and Pharaohs on the walls of the Osiris Temple at Abydos are among the most beautifully preserved in Egypt. Then continue to Dendera to visit the Temple of Hathor, goddess of love and joy.The temple is located in Dendera which is situated at the north of Luxor .

Dendera and Abydos are absolutely breathtaking and worth visiting. The guide Amira was very knowledgeable and provided good information. Also she’s a very nice person. The driver is professional and punctual.

Mena, our guide, and Ahmed, our driver, were great. They picked us up on time, drove us to Abedos and Dendera quickly and safely. Mena refreshed our knowlege of Egyptian geography and history on the way to the sites. Quick overview of the main sites and segnificant events was provided before letting us to explore the sites on our own. We had planty of time to take pics and explore the temples. No rush, no pressure, well orgonized and easy... probabely the most easy going tour we took in Egypt this far. Highly recomended.

We had the pleasure of Mena the guide and Ahmed the driver for this day long tour. Both were amazing, Ahmed for dealing with the roads and other road users (not something I have ever experienced in my life!). It was very interesting witnessing Egyptian life on the journey there and back. It is lots of travelling but well worth it. Dendarah is beuatiful it is worth paying for the extras too. Mena was a very knowledgeable guide, we learnt lots and have been able ti use that knowledge to understand other areas. Abydos is not as spetactular but just as interesting.

Our tour started out okay with a visit to Dendera Temple, but it was clear early on that our guide Mena and our driver did not want to continue the tour as scheduled to Abydos following the visit to Dendera. Mena insisted that it was not worth the drive to see Abydos due to the condition of the temple site, which seemed odd given the tour is clearly advertised as a visit to Dendera and Abydos. Despite offering us alternative temples to visit in the Luxor area for some reason, we insisted on visiting Abydos given the price and description of the tour that we had already paid for. After leaving Dendera Temple, the tour became extremely uncomfortable due to the dispute over the tour's itinerary and the driver's unnecessarily aggressive driving (even for Egypt standards). Despite the situation, we enjoyed our visit to Abydos Temple and the local lunch nearby. On the way back we learned that the highway we took to get to Abydos and back is called the Western Desert Road and the reason our driver continued to bribe the cops at all of the traffic stops is that tourists and tour groups are banned from using the road due to potential safety risks including terrorist attacks, kidnapping, and other criminal activities. They even admitted that the road was illegal for tour groups and that there was an alternate route that we could have taken? Between the erratic driving and route taken, this tour was a highly unsafe experience and we would not recommend anyone to consider booking this tour in the future. Our visit to Dendera and Abydos was unfortunately tainted by a guide and driver that wanted to spend as little time as possible on the tour and unfortunately that resulted in an unsafe and unenjoyable experience. Please read the other reviews citing safety concerns and a guide pushing for itinerary changes before booking a tour with this company.

First, the tour was operated exactly as booked and as clearly stated in the itinerary, including all visits and the local lunch. There were no changes made by our team without your awareness or agreement. Secondly, our tour guide made a professional recommendation to skip the visit to Abydos due to the long driving distance, especially after you mentioned that your wife is pregnant. As an alternative, the guide suggested visiting two sites in Luxor to ensure a more comfortable and enjoyable experience. This suggestion was made purely with your safety and convenience in mind, and you agreed to this adjustment during the tour. However, after agreeing to the change, you later requested a refund for the Abydos visit. Since the tour was delivered as agreed and the modification was accepted on the spot, this request is not applicable. Regarding the claims about safety and the route taken, we would like to assure that all our tours are operated with licensed drivers and professional guides who follow local regulations and prioritize guest safety at all times. We regret that you did not enjoy your experience, but we stand by the quality and integrity of the service provided.
Emad and Omar were the best of the best! I’m from Florida in America and they accommodated in every way! I could tell the other tour guys knew exactly who our guide was. He knew so much about history he was great if I ever come back he will be who I call!

These two temples are absolutely amazing and by far my favorite. While it is a trek to get there it’s totally worth the drive. Amira George was great and she guided me through the histories of the sites with ease. The cute little lunch spot was traditional and the food was delicious. Our driver Salah Ahmed transported us with precision and care.

Excellent day out. Good communication before trip to confirm details. My guide Sayed and driver Omar arrived on time in clean modern car. Sayed had excellent knowledge and English and went into all the detail I wanted. Trip didn’t feel rushed with just the right time at both temples, including free time and stops for photos. I paid for both the crypt and roof at Dendara which I recommend.

Had a really amazing day with Mena who took us to Dendara for the day. Dendara is about a 90 minute drive from Luxor and totally worth it. No crowds , serene, pristine with a fabulous temple and loads to see. Mena was a great guide, fun to be with , extremely knowledgeable and we would highly recommend him!
