I was picked up promptly by Douglas who was excellent as he kept pointing out places of interest on the way to the park, arriving at the park around 9:30 AM. The tour was amazing! Douglas our tour guide was really knowledgeable and also a skilled driver. We saw lots of amazing wildlife (zebras, giraffes, wildebeests, gazelles, hippos, hyenas, etc) including 3 of the Big 5 (lions, elephants and buffaloes) and several birds (guinea fowls, ostriches, secretary birds, black headed herons, hamerkop birds, vultures...). This was an amazing experience that exceeded all expectations. This was a really long day but we had enough time at the park before we stopped for lunch. Lunch was delicious as I got to taste some of the fresh foods that Kenya has to offer. After lunch, we made our way to a Maasai village where we got to see how the Maasai people live and how their women build their houses. At the end of the tour, we made our way back to the hotel. All in all, it was a very pleasant day; and I'd definitely recommend it to everyone. Thank you Douglas, for making this the most memorable experience of my life!
This experience is EPIC. Although it’s a drive, it is worth every second. From watching herds of elephant families move across the plains to lions lazing about, you get to see some of Kenya’s most iconic wildlife.
This was a fantastic day trip. Fidelis was a really knowledgeable guide and an incredibly skilled driver. It is a long day with about 4-4.5hrs in each direction (including a stop) but we also got a good amount of time in the park. We also stopped on the way to take photos of Kilimanjaro which proved to be a good idea as by the time we reached Amboseli it was entirely in cloud and stayed that way. We saw plenty of elephants as well as lots of other animals. My only slight grumbles were that the safari van was quite old and I ended up scratching my arm on the roof multiple times whist taking photos, and that the timing of the lunch was quite late - around 3:30 on the way home which meant everyone was too hungry to take up the optional visit to the Masai village. An earlier lunch in one of the park lodges would have been better. Overall though it was fantastic value and a trip I would definitely take again. The total trip time was 14hrs (0500-1900)
Day safari. Was picked up from my hotel then others on the safari were picked up. Took a few hours to get to the park but it gave me time to enjoy the views and get to know my co-travelers. Our guide, Alex, was amazing. Saw tons of great wildlife as well as birds. The view of Mt Kilimanjaro with elephants in the foreground was the cherry on top.
Thank you so much Mary for your wonderful review! We're so glad to hear you had a great experience with our guide Alex. It's great to know that you felt the trip was well-organized and that your driver's knowledge of the park enhanced your experience. We truly appreciate you chose us for your adventure, and we'd love to welcome you back on your next journey.
1. It’s an almost 15-16 hr journey (5-6 hrs each way) - and the drive is quite bumpy 2. Our guide Douglas was super friendly and knowledgeable 3. We didn’t get to see Kilimanjaro, it was a cloudy day. Make sure you check this before you go 4. The car isn’t the most comfortable
Dear Pranay. Thank you for taking your time to write a feedback for this tour. We are happy that you chose us over many that offer the same. You raised 3 important issues that will help us improve on service delivery. First is time taken for the whole trip, its approximately 12 to 13 hours depending on the traffics. Secondly, the roads in the park are pumpy and dirty, there is no comfy car that can fit this roads and that's why we use jeeps and 4x4 tour vans. We are thrilled that you liked the services of our guide Douglas and that he's so professional and knowledgeable. We'll share with him this positive review. We will be glad to serve you again in future. Thank you.
Do not book through Viator... the other 5 people in my group all paid significantly less booking through other platforms. Viator charged almost 300% more.
Dear Bradley. Thank you for taking your time to write such a review. We regret our prices did not much with the other travellers in the group but this is clear from the site that prices vary with the group size. It will be misleading that Viator is charging more and everyone else booked on the same platform but different group size and this brought the variance in price. You are supposed to read and understand the terms of any tour before signing. We sincerely regret but we offer this tour at the best and lowest prices. Thank you.
The park itself and the guide as a person were satisfactory. However, I am rating this experience low due to misleading advertising. The tour was advertised as a 12-hour experience, but in reality, it lasted over 17 hours—starting with a pickup at 4:30 a.m. and returning to the hotel at 10:00 p.m. This extended duration was not due to traffic, as the agency is aware of the road conditions. Rather, it appeared that the guide and agency were not mindful of the timing or committed to accurate scheduling. I had prior commitments in Nairobi at 8:00 p.m., which I missed because of the extended tour. I also booked a volcano tour for the following day, which I did not attend due to exhaustion from the previous day’s activities, resulting in a financial loss of $150. When I requested that the agency or Viator partially compensate for these losses owing to the misleading information, their response was that I had enjoyed myself and that they would not issue a refund. While I enjoyed the opportunity to see the animals, I found the experience overshadowed by the misleading information and the subsequent dismissive attitude. In comparison, other agencies I have booked with for visits to Nairobi National Park and Hell's Gate have been professional, honest, and fair. Overall, this was not a positive experience.
Dear Barbara. Thank you for your precious time to share your experience. We truly regret that the tour did not go as planned and could like to point out some concerns that you raised. We first thank you for acknowledge g that our guide was experienced and served you satisfactorily despite the delays on the road to and from Amboseli due to heavy traffics. Our aim is customer satisfaction and experience. From the site the tour is durable for 12 hours which is a reality but can be more due to unavoidable circumstances like traffics and nature. This was your day and its prudent if you complained that you were rushed which is not the case. We also regret that we did not initiate a refund as you requested. It's unfair you enjoy every bit of the tour and later demand a refund because you arrived later than expected. We always aim to accommodate our guests and resolve situations as fairly as possible. Your negative review was of bad faith as we resolved not to initiate the refund. We regret but this but you should also be considerate its not our fault to delay you for your other engagements. We take every review seriously as this makes us improve on service delivery. We wish to serve you in future on other tours. Kind regards.
Our guide Calvin was extremely friendly and knowledgable. He provided a lot of relevant facts and anecdotes. We were lucky to see 3 of big 4 and a clear view of the kilimandjaro
