Day Tour at Maasai Village In Tanzania
Description
We start early in the morning and are accompanied by our English-speaking guide. The road takes us through beautiful landscapes: African bushland where we see dried-up river beds, baobab and acacia trees, and some plantations. Maasai Village Once we arrive in the village, please remember to be a respectful guest and don‘t take pictures of the villagers without asking. During the visit, you will have a chance to mingle with the Maasai and chat with them, but your social skills and creativity will determine how much they open up to you. Your English-speaking guide will assist you and translate into Kimaasai, as the Maasai themselves do not speak any other languages. Traditional Maasai Experiences Whilst you walk through the village with your guide, you will learn more about the culture of the Maasai. This will include a lesson on traditional Maasai medicine and the opportunity to taste the local Maasai tea. We will also have the opportunity to visit a Maasai home.

Meeting Point at Moshi city center hotel, we do free pick up/off from any Hotel around Moshi city center. From Kilimanjaro International Airport it will be an additional $50usd per group of 4 people, From Arusha is $100usd for a group of 4 people.

I booked this tour on Viator.com but somehow reservation didn’t go through to them. I had the hotel person contacted them to check. Technical issue created some issues on their side but that didn’t stop them to go above and beyond to ensure I had an amazing day. The owner was able to quickly arrange my tour that morning. My day started one hour later than originally expected but that became a minor details in the end. My driver/guide name was Dave. I enjoyed chatting with him. Since I was a solo participant, he took a duty as a photographer during my visit to the Maasai village, and I must say he has a good sense of photography. Good composition and thanks to him, I came home with great deals of pictures from my visit. My visit to Maasai was interesting and I am glad I got to experience this. I learned so much more about Maasai than before. The driver is also knowledgeable about Maasai, he educated me enough prior to arriving there. Lunch was good too. We stopped by a local BBQ place for lunch. Freshly cooked chicken was so tasty. Lunch was supposedly the end of the tour but since I just arrived at Tanzania, Dave offered to stop by a local gift shop and a market to give me a chance to shop. I ended up buying so much to fill a half of my suitcase! Cherry on top on this event was that the owner came back in the evening to check on my experience. He really cared about my experience and made an effort to come see me at my hotel that evening to get a feedback in person. My day may have started on the wrong side but he ensured my day ended on the right side by arranging a good driver and following through with what he said he was going to do. I highly recommend booking with them for anything as they proved themselves as a reliable tour operator.
