Great Way to Experience Daikoku!

I had a great time! Ryo was incredibly accommodating, offering multiple pickup options to make things easier. I initially went to the wrong location, but we quickly sorted it out and got going—what an adventure! He picked me up in his 500+ hp GTR, and from the moment we hit the road, it was fast and thrilling. As we cruised toward Daikoku PA, Ryo showed off his driving skills, pushing the GTR to its limits while still making the experience super enjoyable. He played whatever music I wanted, tailoring the whole vibe to my preferences. Since it was a Saturday night, Ryo emphasized the importance of getting there quickly because it was going to be packed—and he wasn’t wrong. We flew along the Bayshore Route and across the Rainbow Bridge, and pulling up to Daikoku PA was just awesome. Cars were lined up, people were taking pictures of every ride rolling in—it felt like a scene out of a movie. Being there with a local in a seriously badass car made it even more special. I had the freedom to explore on my own, and it was incredible seeing things that just don’t exist back in the States. No matter your favorite car, it was there—from Skylines to RX-7s, Liberty Walk builds, McLarens, Lambos, and even some Corvettes mixed in. It was pure JDM car culture, with the sounds of pops, bangs, and turbo whistles surrounding you. After about an hour and a half, the cops showed up and called it a night. I met back up with Ryo, we hopped in the GTR, and he dropped me off near our original pickup point—wrapping up an unforgettable evening. The GTR was amazing. I’m more of a Supra guy myself, so riding in a GTR was a new and exhilarating experience—it’s insanely fast, brakes hard, and Ryo really knows how to drive! While he doesn’t speak English, he uses a translator app that works seamlessly. It was super easy to communicate, and we had some great conversations. He’s clearly passionate and knowledgeable about his car and the entire scene. I didn’t want to do a tour in a van—I wanted the real deal in a capable JDM car, and I knew that came with a higher price, which was totally worth it to me. Ultimately, I had an incredible time and I think you will too. Don’t let the language barrier scare you—his translator works great. I wish we had more time to check out other sights and JDM shops, but I had already visited Liberty Walk earlier that day, so I was satisfied. Highly recommend if you want an authentic taste of Japanese car culture!
