The Best Way to Experience the Nagasaki

If you're visiting Nagasaki, I highly recommend exploring the city with Nao. He is incredibly flexible and tailors the tour to your interests, whether there are specific places you want to visit or topics you'd like to learn more about. What made this experience truly special was that he took us to hidden places that ordinary tourists would never find on their own. These weren't the typical attractions you see in guidebooks—they were authentic local spots that revealed a different side of Nagasaki. Beyond being an excellent guide, Nao was simply wonderful to spend time with. He is kind, easy to talk to, and happy to share stories or listen to yours. It felt more like exploring the city with a local friend than taking a tour. If you want to discover Nagasaki's hidden gems and have a truly memorable experience, I can't recommend Nao enough. I would absolutely book another tour with him the next time I visit. If you're looking for an authentic, personalized experience and want to discover the hidden side of Nagasaki, I wholeheartedly recommend booking a tour with Nao. I will definitely join another tour with him the next time I visit.

A Guide Who Turns "Sightseeing" into "Unforgettable Memories"

If you're visiting Nagasaki, I highly recommend booking a tour with Nao. I've joined tours with many different guides over the years, and Nao is, without a doubt, one of the very best. Nao has a gift for turning simple "sightseeing" in Nagasaki into memories you'll never forget. He's the kind of guide who makes you think, "I'm so glad I met him." He shares all sorts of hidden gems and local secrets about Nagasaki. He guides every tour with warm, genuine hospitality. What makes him truly special isn't just his knowledge — it's his warmth and thoughtfulness. I'll never forget the sunset we watched from up on the mountain. After a stretch of exhausting work, it was exactly the kind of experience that refreshed my soul. Nao, thank you so much! You gave me a memory I'll treasure forever.

The Best Guide, The Best Memories in Nagasaki

Nao was simply the best guide I could have asked for. From the very beginning, his warmth and thoughtful care made the whole day special. He always seemed to know exactly how to make each moment more fun and memorable. There are so many moments I could share, but I will share some of them which will stay with me forever. One was his personal story. Nao shared that his father survived the atomic bomb, and hearing this connection to his own family made the tour feel so much deeper than just sightseeing. Another was when he took me to one of his favorite secret spots, a place I could never have found on my own. But honestly, it wasn't just the destinations, it was everything in between. Walking and chatting freely with him about Nagasaki and its history and local life, every single moment felt priceless. The tour ended at Inasayama Park, where we watched a beautiful magic hour sky together, the perfect final memory of a truly perfect day. Thanks to Nao, I didn't just visit Nagasaki, I fell in love with it. I thought about the people who lived here in the past, and the people living here now. This was more than a tour; every minute of it was a gift. If you are visiting Nagasaki, I cannot recommend Nao enough. He will give you memories you will treasure forever!

Scenic journey to the Bio Park

Nao was an excellent guide. He drove us all the way to the Nagasaki Bio Park and joined us inside, helping to make it a smooth experience. He was knowledgeable, personable, and had a good sense of humor. He even had some souvenirs for us! I would recommend to any visitors in the area.

Perfect introduction to Nagasaki

Our guide Nao gave us the perfect introduction to Nagasaki. We worked with him to design our half day together, and we had a wonderful time. As a local, Nao was able to provide a personal touch, taking us to places off the beaten path and telling us stories from his own experience. Highlights were our visit to the Peace Park and to the Suwa-jinja shrine. Nao is warm and friendly along with being knowledgeable, and we thoroughly enjoyed our time together.

A must do tour in Nagasaki - skip the tours offered by the cruise line and do this instead!

First off, Nao was an amazing guide! I had nothing in mind except for visiting Peace Park in Nagasaki and he built the perfect itinerary. We started out by heading up the mountain to a lookout point where we could see for miles in all directions before stopping at the Peace Park. There were many hidden gems that we stopped at that had no crowds - a temple, a cemetery, a cat temple (a first for us). Nao also took the time to educate us on where we were and what we were seeing. We learned much more during this experience than we have during shore excursions through the ship. The private and personal experience was wonderful.

Best day

Nao was absolutely the best. His knowledge of the area and Japan was perfect and he explained so much more to us than any of the other guides we have had on our trip. He took us to some places where tourist did not go, the view of the landscape and city was amazing, and we experienced a shrine through the Japanese culture with step by step experience and explanation. We truly enjoyed our day and recommend Nao.

Nao Hamasaki is the guide you need for a thorough, comprehensive, thoughtful and fun tour of Nagasaki. He met us at the cruise terminal and brought us back right on time. He provided umbrellas and drinks. He brought us to a wonderful restaurant. He even brought fish food so I could feed the Koi. We are grateful for a lovely day.
