Itinerary

Morning: Our guide and vehicle pick you up at the agreed time at hotel in Hanoi (or meet you at our meeting point of Hanoi Opera House if you do not request for a pickup at your location) then depart for Cuc Phuong national park. It will take approximate 2.5 hours to get to Cuc Phuong (The park was officially opened in 1960 as the first nature reserve in Vietnam).

Admission included45 min

On arrival to the Park gate, you get entrance tickets then keep going further to the Park Center. You first visit the “Cave of Pre-historic Man", the limestone cave, which was excavated in 1966. It was one of the earliest discoveries of human habitation in the country, with graves, stone axes, bone-made spears and tools dating back some 7,500 years. During the excavation 44 years ago, archaeologists found skeletons in three tombs where they believed prehistoric people had lived in the forest 7,500 years ago. In 2000, archaeologists discovered a fossilised sea reptile called placodontia, the first to have been found in Southeast Asia, dating back 200-300 million years.

Admission included180 min

Then keep going into the park central. You will have lunch at house-on-stilted in the park central. Taking a short trek into the National Park for sightseeing and learn more of fauna and flora in this oldest forest of Vietnam, to the giant ancient tree of 1000 years old in middle of the jungle.

Admission included45 min

The next visit will be an "Endangered Primate Rescue Centre" which is a non-profit organization dedicated to the rehabilitation, breeding, research, and conservation of endangered primates, and to the protection of their habitats.

Admission included20 min

In 1998, Fauna and Flora International (FFI) established the Turtle Conservation Center (TCC) as part of a larger conservation initiative focused on Cuc Phuong National Park. In 2001, management of the project was transferred to the national park. Today, the TCC remains the flagship for efforts to protect tortoise and freshwater turtles in Vietnam.

ANCIENT TREES ♥️

Got to see Monkeys and turtles at the rescue centre. Did 6km walk in the National park, ensure you are fit to climb stairs to get to the 1003 year old tree. Scenery was spectacular, the weather was dry and made it easier to climb. Not for the elderly or faint hearted, highly recommended this tour and our tour guide was informative and knowledgeable.

Would no recommend

Would not recommend this tour. Our tour guide wasn’t helpful at all. He was walking through the trekking portion of this tour very fast. I asked him twice to slow down so we could all take in the sights and look at the animals in the jungle (as I live in London I don’t see jungles everyday…) but he kept walking far off into the distance. He didn’t know much about the park or the jungle so we didn’t get any useful information. He said we didn’t finish the trek because “we were physically unable to” but we wanted to end it as we were getting very frustrated due to the lack of service after paying over £200 for 3 of us. The cherry on top of this was via WhatsApp on the return journey I was sent a few recommendations for restaurants, because we didn’t tip when getting out of the car the recommendations were deleted…. This was very unprofessional. Would not use this company again.

Operator response

Dear James, Our team thank you for taking our tour. As a professional operator, we always want to hear the feedbacks so that we can improve our service. However, we also hope you should be responbible and honest with your review. Why didn'nt you tell the real story of this? You booked for 3 and one of you could not go and you wanted to cancel last minute and so you asked us to get back full refund for one person. We did explain that it was impossible under the cancellation policy (you need to cancel 24 hours before departure to get full refund). You knew well this but you kept telling us that we must refund you 100% for the cancellation of one person just because my company did not need to spend for that. We explained carefully that all reserved and this is a private tour so even one of you not going but the car and the guide...are still the same. And it was not so nice of you that you wrote a story with wrong information just because you could not get back a full refund. Hopefully you should be fair and should not do like that to others. Thanks

Cuc Phuong National Park Trekking - A wonderful experience!

My group booked a day trip to Cuc Phuong with trekking in jungle. We really enjoyed the trip although it as on a hot day and felt a bit tired. We loved the short trek, saw giant tree. Our highlights were “cave of ancient man” and Primate Rescue center. Our guide was brilliant. Lunch and driver were also perfect. Fantastic trip!
