Crystal Caves, Hamilton Shopping and Beach Tour
Description
Discover one of Bermuda’s oldest living treasures during this 6.5-hour tour of Crystal Caves (entrance fee included), with a 2 hour swim at the Horseshoe Beach (Bermuda’s most popular beach). Explore the caverns and limestone formations of the caves and wander along a floating pontoon pathway underground. Then head to our capital, the City of Hamilton, for shopping, or have lunch, along Front Street with its many boutiques, retail stores and restaurants. Finally, head to one of our pink sand beaches, the Horseshoe Bay, for a swim in its warm crystal blue waters (please note: you must put on your dry clothes to get back on the bus). Minimum age restriction: All passengers must be 3 years and above.

Since I went on two excursions, I'll divide this review into two sections to make it easier to read. Caves & Waves Our guide for this excursion was both hilarious and incredibly knowledgeable, sharing a wealth of Bermudian history throughout the tour. We visited several beautiful beaches and stopped at one for about an hour. While the beach was gorgeous, many people (including myself) felt that an hour simply wasn't enough time to fully enjoy it or even go for a swim. The bus ride itself was comfortable, and the air conditioning was a lifesaver in the Bermudian heat. At the Crystal Caves, our guide was just as entertaining. Although there are around 80 steps down to reach the caves, they honestly don't feel like that many. I was expecting the caves to be larger and for the tour inside to last a bit longer, but that doesn't take away from their beauty. They were absolutely breathtaking and well worth seeing. Quintessential Bermuda & Shopping by Bus This excursion is the main reason my review is rated as average instead of good. Much of the information shared during this tour was repeated from the Caves & Waves excursion, making a large portion of the experience feel redundant. The tour lasted around four hours, but less than a quarter of that time was actually dedicated to shopping. Because we had to stick to a strict schedule, the shopping experience felt rushed. There wasn't enough time to browse at your own pace without worrying about being left behind. What made matters worse was the transportation. Unlike the Caves & Waves excursion, which included an NCL-exclusive ferry, this tour used a public ferry which was shared with passengers from a Carnival cruise (to go back to the docks). It was extremely crowded, and even arriving on time didn't guarantee you'd make it back comfortably before your ship's departure. I would recommend skipping this excursion altogether and exploring Bermuda on your own instead. Spend more time at the beach, shop at your own pace, and truly enjoy everything Bermuda has to offer without feeling rushed.
Andre was very nice and knowledgeable. If you want to know how much everything costs on the island -he is your guy! The only issue I had was his microphone/sound system was very muffled so we could not understand most of what he was saying.

If you’re on a cruise, that’s the tour to take. I was staying in Hamilton and had to taxi to meeting point. Andre, our guide was so knowledgeable and pleasant to speak to.
We really enjoyed our Crystal Caves tour! Our guide, Malik, was knowledgeable and engaging. Loved the story of how the caves were discovered! The caves themselves are beautiful! Lots of formations and crystal clear water. Malik answered all of our questions with patience and grace! I only wish we had had time to better thank him on the way out!
Cancelled at last minute...Unreliable..... These operators should be vetted for reliability.
Joseph, I am very surprised by your review. The issue was not a cancellation on our part. You booked the same tour three separate times, then canceled two of the three bookings and inadvertently canceled the booking you should have kept. We worked with the information provided through your reservations. Your situation was a direct result from the booking changes that were made on your end. While I respect your right to share your experience, I believe your review does not accurately reflect what occurred. It is important to take ownership of the booking errors that led to this situation rather than placing the responsibility on our company. For over 35 years, we have provided reliable and professional service to thousands of customers and our record speaks for itself.
The guide had punctual timing. Friendly guide, detailed and informative narrative throughout the entire tour.
Just a heads up, the bus for this tour is tiny, so be prepared if you're not 5'3, 100#. We had Andre as our guide and he was fantastic. Super friendly and knowledgeable, and gave a super detailed presentation as we drove from one end of the island to the other. We were a group of seven and all of us thoroughly enjoyed our day at the caves, shopping and at the beach. HIGHLY recommend this tour if your have one day in Bermuda, as it hits all the highlights. One additional note: there are 85 steps at the cave and a pretty steep ramp, so people with mobility issues might need some assistance.
