We had a great time at the Van Gogh museum - our kids got little workbooks from the family desk that let them do a scavenger hunt and answer questions about the art they were seeing; it was really cool to see them engaging with the art. It was super easy to get our boat tour tickets, as there’s a Tours and Tickets kiosk right next to the Van Gogh (beside the big fountain), and there’s a boat stop right across the street from the Rijksmuseum, not even a five-minute walk. The boat tour is a great way to see the houses and buildings of Amsterdam; if you’re on the sidewalk you can’t really see the buildings properly, but from the canals you get a great perspective of them. It made for a great day of sightseeing!
Dear guest, Thank you for your kind review. We are very happy to hear that you and your family had a great time at the Van Gogh Museum and enjoyed the interactive activities for the children. It is wonderful to know it made the visit more engaging and enjoyable for everyone. We really appreciate your feedback and hope to welcome you again. Kind regards
The city canal cruise was absolutely deserving. For the van Gogh museum the experience was absolutely negative because, despite having paid for the dual experience since July 2025, even after reminder I was not delivered the entrance tickets to the museum itself; what was sent by email does not correspond to the tickets needed to enter the museum. This discovery was made at the very moment of entry to the museum, so it was impossible to resolve the situation that had arisen. In doing so, despite having paid for two experiences, we could only enjoy one of them (the city canal cruise).
Dear Samuele, Thank you for your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about your experience with the museum tickets. Please contact Viator support directly so they can look into this and assist you further. Kind regards, Tours&Tickets
The Van Gogh museum wouldn’t let me in with this ticket, I left messages and rang up to ask about the tickets and didn’t get to speak to anyone! Even the Van Gogh museum staff told me to not trust Viator and they want them removed as they just buy a load of tickets and resell them.
Dear Xenia, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re very sorry to hear about your experience with the Van Gogh Museum & 1-Hour Canal Cruise Combo Ticket. It sounds like there was a serious issue with your ticket and communication, and we advise you to contact the Viator support team directly. We understand how disappointing it is to miss out on the museum visit and appreciate your honesty in bringing this to our attention. Kind regards, Tours&Tickets
What a fantastic experience to be close up to such beautiful paintings. The gift shop is worth a visit too. The canal trip was very informative and plain sailing! Well worth the money, don't miss out!
Dear guest, Thank you for your fantastic review! We’re so pleased to hear that you enjoyed seeing the beautiful paintings up close at the Van Gogh Museum - it truly is a special experience. Great to know you also found the gift shop worth a visit! It’s wonderful that the canal cruise was informative and smooth sailing, and that you felt the combo ticket was well worth the money. Thank you for the recommendation, and we hope to welcome you back to Amsterdam again soon! kind regards, Tours&Tickets
Van Gogh Museum - excellent The Canal Cruise - excellent Viator experience - terrible. Do not use this organisation, there are better providers. Purchased a combo ticket (Van Gogh & Canal cruise). Got to Van Gogh and took half an hour to enter as Vitator had never sent me the specific tickets for entrance / all I had was several emails confirming my combo ticket but no specific for VG. I had to email Viator via the app from the museum to ask where my tickets were 12 hours later and still no response. Thankfully the museum staff were wonderful and allowed us in. Then for the cruise, at no time did Viator state that the cruise was via an agent called Flagship. We had to hunt down the correct cruise company and this took us over an hour - we were tight on time. Extremely disappointing and both events (where Viator had no involvement) were exceptional but the admin / info / details / customer experience (on the app) was dreadful. We then found out that this organisation are known by other tourists and the agents we saw to have a very bad reputation for exactly this reason.
Dear Guest, Thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed the Van Gogh Museum and the Canal Cruise! Van Gogh museum was fantastic and the Viator ticket allowed us to book it affordably. Boat trip was terrible. Not enough seats, bad audio guide with adverts. It's a money making machine where people are funnelled through Don't appreciate having to download an app to access my tickets. Don't bother.
Dear Bryce, thank you for sharing your feedback. We’re glad to hear that you enjoyed the Van Gogh Museum and found the tickets convenient. We’re sorry that the canal cruise did not meet your expectations and understand your frustration with the seating and audio guide. For any issues with Viator bookings, we recommend contacting their support team directly, as they can help resolve problems. Kind regards, Tours&Tickets
Im giving this tour 5 stars strictly off the Van Gogh museum itself even though there was SO much difficulty getting in and we didnt get the boat tour portion that we paid for. Upon arrival prior to the start of the tour the van gogh attendants said that the Viator tickets wouldn't scan and werent willing to let us into the building to try to get them scanned and said i needed to contact Viator to have them sent in pdf. I messaged Viator but they did not respond so i called and was told we had to go to a redemption site so we left the van gogh and went the redemption site but were told they dont give you the van gogh tickets only the boat tickets. We went back to van gogh and were told the same thing that we needed different tickets but this attendant was willing to try out of curiosity since i had 4 individual tickets so she let us into the building. Once inside our tickets scanned so we could enter the museum. You have to get a locker for you bags which also was a little annoying because we were short on time since the entry took so long and we had other tours booked later in the day. The actual museum was fantastic and my family absolutely loved it. We were not able to do the boat tour portion of the tour because of the issue with getting into the van gogh museum taking so much time.
Never use this company. Waited in a snow for 15 minutes and nobody showed up. Contacted the agent and left messages but no one answered.
Dear Chiaki, Thank you for the review. We just want to clarify that you booked the entrance tickets to the museum, not a tour. You could just enter the museum and enjoy the art. If you have further concerns, please reach out tothe Viator support team. Hope you still had a nice time in the city. Kind regards, Tours&Tickets
There are not only wonderful paintings but also the story of Van Gogh’s life. For British people the admission charge is steep but this has to be an Amsterdam must!
Dear Dvincent, Thank you for your kind review! We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed both the Van Gogh Museum and the canal cruise, and that the story of Van Gogh’s life added to your experience. We understand that the admission cost can feel high for some visitors, but we’re glad it was worthwhile and contributed to your visit to Amsterdam being memorable. Kind regards, Tours&Tickets
All well and without problem, it was off-season and we didn't take time to enter the museum which in particular I loved and the beautiful pictures and the boat trip.. all well anyway..👍
Dear Miguel, Thank you for your kind review. We’re delighted to hear that you enjoyed both the Van Gogh Museum and the canal cruise. It’s wonderful that you had a smooth visit and were able to appreciate the beautiful artwork and the boat ride.
