Great tour, saw some familiar sights and many new ones, good lunch as well. Dilan was an excellent driver, guide, and photographer.
Booked a half-day city tour with Sri Rides for 17 people on business trip. The tour was well-organized, with thoughtful communication in advance for the group’s food preferences and arrangement air-conditioned bus. The tour guide was considerate, friendly and helpful. Highly recommended for a short visit in Colombo.
Ladies beware of Joshua Dilan of Sri Rides Tours & Travels as he is dangerous. After my tour he reached out to remind me to write a review as well as send me a couple of pics that my guide, David, took. He then proceeded to make inappropriate comments to me via whatsapp! I am deeply offended, disgusted and now I feel unsafe here as he knows where I am staying and what I look like.
Thank you for your feedback. I take guest safety and professionalism very seriously. I would like to clarify that all communication after the tour was limited to standard, friendly, and professional follow-up, including sharing photos taken by our guide and a review reminder. There was no inappropriate language or behavior at any point. Screenshots of the full conversation have been shared with the platform for review, as they clearly show respectful and friendly communication only. Any implication of harassment or unsafe behavior is extremely serious and does not reflect what actually occurred. I have requested the platform to carefully review the evidence provided. We remain committed to maintaining clear professional boundaries and ensuring every guest feels safe, respected, and comfortable
I had a really good experience with my guide, David, who picked me up from Mount Lavinia, then negotiated the Colombo traffic safely and efficiently. He was keen to explain a lot about the landmarks we saw along the way, and about Sri Lanka generally too. There were not as many food stops as I was expecting - coconut drink, then seafood street food snack at Galle Face Green soon after, then no more food stops until 2.5 hours after I was picked up, when I had a substantial kottu dish. After this we - or rather I - was deposited in a gem store, which I was not expecting and was not on the advertised itinerary. The store staff - i guess for security reasons - then locked the door after I had entered, basically locking me in! I will make it clear that there were no high-pressure sales tactics or anything like that, but i still found it weird to be dropped into an unadvertised gem stop and into a locked room! Something to bear in mind. The last stop was at a tea store testing, which was interesting, with a knowledgable and very friendly and polite guy setting out the teas.
Thank you very much for taking the time to share your detailed feedback and for choosing Sri Rides. We’re happy to hear that you enjoyed your tour with David and appreciated his safe driving and the insights he shared about Colombo and Sri Lanka. We’ll be sure to pass along your kind words to him. Regarding the gem store visit, we’d like to kindly clarify that this stop is included in the tour itinerary. That said, we’re sorry to hear that it came as a surprise and that the experience felt uncomfortable. There is never any obligation to make a purchase, and guest comfort is very important to us. Your feedback highlights the need for us to communicate this more clearly before the tour, and we will definitely improve on that. We also appreciate your comments about the food stops and are glad you enjoyed the tea tasting experience, as well as the friendly and knowledgeable host there. Thank you once again for your honest review—it truly helps us improve our services. We hope to have the pleasure of welcoming you again in the future.
