The tour was nice. The company coordinated a special pickup for us at Mirador de Carmen Alto, since it was along the route. Normally, you need to be at the plaza or nearby hotels for pickup, so that was a huge plus. The journey begins with a quick stop at a convenience store for snacks, followed by regular breaks every couple of hours for scenic viewpoints and bathroom stops. The drive to the lunch stop is long, but the buffet was worth it. Afterward, we visited the Colca Lodge, which was absolutely beautiful. The hot springs at the lodge are the highlight — relaxing, clean, and set in a stunning location. The on-site restaurant was excellent, and there’s also a spa if you want to unwind even more. The rooms don’t have TVs, but the beds are massive (larger than king size!) and extremely comfortable, so it’s easy to relax and disconnect. The next day, we visited the Colca Canyon. It was a nice experience, though since it’s the off-season, we only saw a few condors in the distance. Lunch that day was another good buffet before heading out on a six-hour drive to Puno. Fortunately, the buses were comfortable and the views along the way made the long ride worthwhile. Overall, the best part of the experience was our guide, Armando — friendly, bilingual, and full of interesting facts. He made everyone feel part of the group and kept the energy positive throughout the trip. Everything is included except for lunch and dinner. Highly recommended.
