The tour was good overall; the guide CHECO told us the history of Cartagena according to him, but after a few days, we learned from another guide that everything CHECO had told us was false information. As a suggestion, they could be more careful with the information their guides provide to tourists. When we arrived at the walled city, the tour ended two hours before the scheduled time, and we missed several things.
Harold aka Papi was excellent! He was the life of the party; comedic and very considerate of all people! My group was primarily Spanish speakers/ Latin decent BUT he managed the time well and gave English interpretation to us few who did not speak / understand Spanish. We used a 3’+ ladder to board and deboard the bus. Appropriate walking shoes are necessary for the castle primarily and it was hot, so dress accordingly. There were a lot of pushy vendors at the Zappatos and San Felipe Castle stops. Must have serious money/ credit for the emerald jewelry store. The store is small with too many people a lots of security. Overall though, it was a GOOD tour at a fair price!
The city tour was excellent. The Adriana guide’s experience of the city, its history and its charisma we loved
We couldn't do the tour because we didn't get a meeting point and so couldn't be there at 9am. The organizer has not responded despite multiple inquiries and this morning at 8:55 it was too late for a tour at 9:00
Unfortunately, this was a very poor experience. There was no water provided at any point during the tour, which is unacceptable given the heat in Cartagena. The experience also lacked any real substance—there was little organization, minimal engagement, and nothing that felt informative or worthwhile. Overall, it felt unprepared and not thought through for guests’ comfort or enjoyment. I would not recommend this tour and suggest looking at other options that are more professional and better organized.
Very complete the truth all very friendly the guide helped us take pictures was very patient, explained everything and the truth felt a very familiar atmosphere
This Tour is horrible because it is unbearable hot and is composed of more than 36 people at each stop want to take pictures one by one or two by two takes a lot of time and the result is an unbearable and massive Tour. I recommend doing it on your own. As a group it is unbearable everyone wants to take a photograph and it takes a very long time at 36 °C. It's a horror.
I didn't like the ride. The bus was too old. He said we were going to the old shoes and we didn't go. There was another agency that offered us a better ride and for a better price too. But, we couldn't buy with them, because the site was in trouble. I don't recommend it to other people. The guide was good, but, just that.
It is a super experience, everything very organized the very friendly guide I recommend to all people visiting Cartagena
Travelers should know what if they take this tour there is a high chance of being mugged during the tour. Our experience was extremely unpleasant and violated private property rights and human integrity. During our tour, at a traffic light a black-clad motorcyclist tried to steal a subtle gold chain from me in a goat. However, he failed to remove it. After this, our guide became very nervous and started making many calls and sending messages. We have suspicions that it's possible that he was connected to the attempted robbery. Really a terrible, regrettable experience and something that we do not expect to live on a tour offered by Viator. The rest of us will travel from the tour empathised with the situation and tried to help. We definitely do not recommend it under any circumstances.
