It is the busiest of the four stations serving the city (the others are La Spezia Migliarina and Ca' di Boschetti for travelers and La Spezia Marittima for cargo in the port itself). Along the coast of the Tyrrhenian Sea, the station may be found on the line that connects Genoa and Pisa.
Riomaggiore is one of the five villages that comprise the Cinque Terre, which is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. This town is famous for its multicolored stone cottages that give the appearance of being stacked on top of one another, as well as its harbor, which is filled with traditional fishing boats. It is also considered to be one of the most popular tourist spots in all of Italy.
After the fall of Rome, very little is known about Corniglia; nonetheless, in the 13th century, it became a part of the Republic of Genoa. Corniglia is still famed for its wine, and travelers who want to experience the Cinque Terre but stay in a calm, less-trodden area seek out the village. Corniglia is located in the southernmost part of the Cinque Terre.
Vernazza is the fourth town on the route heading north, it is one of the most authentic "fishing villages" on the Italian Riviera, and it does not allow automobile traffic. It is the only natural harbor on Cinque Terre, and it is well-known for the sophisticated homes that can be found there. The name Vernazza originates from the Latin word verna, which translates to "native" in English.
The Cinque Terre are comprised of five different coastal communities, the most well-known of which is Monterosso al Mare. The village may be found on several rolling hills that are farmed with lemon trees, grapevines, and olive trees. This quaint little town on the Ligurian Riviera is known for having some of the friendliest locals thanks to the wonderful beaches, stunning reefs, and incredibly clear waters that surround it.

The guide was fluent in both Italian and English. Not just panoramic views of the Mediterranean Sea, but we also experienced amazing hiking paths and some unique local food at an eatery. The village of Riomaggiore is so colorful. An experience that we will cherish for a long time.
Listen to your guide using the ferry makes the day perfect. Make sure to have lunch in town. Private is best
This tour covered the areas highlighted for their heritage value. The guide provided insightful commentary with historical facts in a cultural context. As first time visitors, this tour was an excellent introduction to the Cinque Terre.
We're thrilled you enjoyed your tour and appreciate you sharing your experience!
This is a rip off. They are sneaky by charging for the "group" instead of per person. Realize that if I had someone with me, it would have cost the same as if I was solo. $625 for a solo excursion. Robbery. How can you enjoy an excursion when you are getting violated. I do not care that the description or small print explains it!!! Common sense says it's robbery. I have used viator for many excursions in many countries. Never again unless I'm refunded half that amount.
We're truly sorry that you feel this way about your experience. We understand your frustration and regret that the pricing structure did not meet your expectations. Your feedback is invaluable, and we will review this concern.
Each location offered something unique. We were surprised by the ingenuity of the locals of Riomaggiore who’ve thrived despite the challenges of their rugged environment. This tour made us see how old-world charm is preserved amid the vibrance of everyday life.

Giovanna was the highlight of our trip to Cinque Terre. She was kind and funny and made sure we were all happy. We had 5 children ages 10-15 and 3 adults and she made sure there was something for everyone. We learned about the towns, ate great food and Giovanna went above and beyond to help us plan the rest of our time in the area. Cannot say enough great things about our experience. Book and request her!
Thank you for your wonderful review!
This tour for me, was a great way to see one of Italy’s most eclectic regions. The villages nestled in the Liguria region are so inspiring that they have captured the imaginations of artists, writers, and poets for centuries. Seeing and experiencing all this, was a delight. I must say, that the tour guide had a deep understanding of these places.
Thank you for your wonderful review!
