Itinerary
The northernmost village of the Cinque Terre is Monterosso, which is divided into two sides: the historic center and the “new” side called Fegina, with a pedestrian tunnel that connects the two. Monterosso is larger than the other towns and is the only one that offers beach services, making it the most visited of the Cinque Terre.
Vernazza the smallest of the Cinque Terre, and commonly known as the most fascinating with a beautiful marina and the Church of Santa Margherita d'Antiochia which stands right on the water. Here you will also see the Torre del Belforte which sits right on the harbor as a protective lighthouse for the small village.
Corniglia: lying 100 meters high on a cliff, Corniglia is the only one of the towns without a port and has a panoramic terrace from which you can see Manarola and Riomaggiore to the south and Vernazza and Monterosso to the north.
Manarola: is located at the other end of the Via del Amore and is part of the municipality of Riomaggiore. Known for its wine production, Manarola produces the only dessert wine called Sciacchetrà found only in this area.
While we continue to sail along the coast of the Cinque Terre villages, we meet Riomaggiore. With brightly colored houses built vertically on the surrounding hills, Riomaggiore is the second largest of the five towns and is widely known for excellent diving spots off its coast in the marine protected area that stretches all along the Cinque Terre. Here you will also see where the famous Via del Amore pedestrian path begins, leading to nearby Manarola.

Sarah was an excellent tour guide and matched our pace and interests very well. She gave us interesting facts and insights about all of the Cinque Terre villages/towns and stopped so we could snorkel for a bit during the tour. She provided us with white wine, pesto, focaccia, and fruit to snack on and it was a beautiful introduction to the Liguria region.
Tom was great… engaging, knowledgeable and informational. We enjoyed every minute.
Sarah was an absolute gem of a boat captain - her knowledge of the area, the cleanliness fobthe boat, wine snacks were amazing. Highlight of the Cinque Terra trip for sure. Awesome playlist 🎶🎵
We booked a private tour with Cinque Terre Sea Tours hoping to see the villages of Cinque Terre from the sea, but due to weather conditions the original trip had to be changed to a tour of the Gulf of Poets around La Spezia. In the end, we were truly happy with the substitution! Our captain, Tom, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. Being from the area, he shared so much local history and insight about the places we visited, which made the experience feel very personal and authentic. One of the highlights of the tour was stopping in the beautiful village of Portovenere, which ended up being our favorite village of the entire trip! The boat was perfect for our group and very comfortable. Tom also treated us to delicious focaccia and homemade pesto prepared by his boss’s wife, along with wonderful local wine. It was such a thoughtful touch and made the experience even more memorable. Highly recommend Cinque Terre Sea Tours for a relaxing, personal, and authentic Ligurian coastal experience!
The most relaxing way to see beautiful Cinque Terre! Sara was an amazing guide, and we enjoyed drinks and fabulous pesto!
Perfect way to see Cinque Terre! Sara was our captain and she was perfect - could answer all our questions and was very accommodating. Communication was excellent pre departure and the boat was well set up and comfortable!
Amazing Captain, beautiful views, and tasty pesto! We were a group of 6 and had a great time on our trip - would recommend!
This was a perfect way to see all the towns without getting caught up in the crowds. Loved it! Would highly recommend this when traveling to this area
Stunning landscapes viewed from the Sea, narrated by an excellent, informative and entertaining captain. Simone was warm and polite from the start, he provided lots of information and helped make a very memorable experience. He brought along delicious focaccia bread and fresh, and outstanding homemade pesto made by his mother - it was fabulous. We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the sea with Simone and would certainly recommend this tour. Grazie mille, Simone.
The private boat tour was a highlight of our stay in Manarola. They were extremely accommodating to meet us in Manarola during the train strike. Our guide was so personable and friendly. He gave us so much great information and history about each town. The pesto was some of the best we’ve ever had. Highly recommend!!
