We offer more than just chocolate, Firstly, the chocolate tour begins with the cultural and biological background of cacao in Costa Rica. It further introduces into the collecting, fermenting, grinding and finally the making of chocolate, the drink of the gods. Secondly, we talk about coffee and its importance for Costa Rica's economic and cultural development. We have a showroom with important coffee picking instruments and a better explanation of the process of coffee production. We want to show you how to make Café-Chorreado. Amongst other sampling methods. Finally, we want to look at one of the most important aspects of Costarican culture and tradition, the trapiche. Here we grind sugar cane to extract the juice and make all kinds of local and delicious candy. This is for sure the sweetest tour in the area. Sergio was a fantastic guide! Very engaging and informative. The farm was very unique and a great way to learn about local farming and culture.
Sergio was an excellent tour guide who made the experience both fun and informative. He was incredibly knowledgeable, and I gained a new appreciation for how chocolate, coffee, vanilla, and sugarcane are grown and produced. Getting to taste everything along the way was an added bonus!
We had the best tour with Brian. We had Elvira English speakers and Spanish speakers on the tour and he did a great job translating for both groups. He walked us through the Cacao plants and also showed us a bunch of other medicinal plants and explained their uses. He began the tour telling us about the history of Cacao in Costa Rica and in general and ended the tour with a cacao tasting where we got to try cacao in all forms directly from the plant, ground down as the drink of the gods, and in its final form as a chocolate bar. We also got to watch as he brewed coffee and then he made us cocktails using juice from sugarcane they chopped down on the farm two days ago. It was really cool to witness the process harvesting juice from the sugar cane to then use in our drinks. It was amazing to see ethical chocolate harvesting and production removed from all the artificial processing you get in major commercial companies. I can’t recommend highly enough. Brian was a fantastic guide and we had the best time, although walked away very full. Don’t bother with your morning coffee before coming you’ll fill up on caffeine here.

This was a very informative tour. Sergio,the guide, did an excellent job providing information, making the tour fun and interactive. He spent time also making connections with the tourists by learning their names, and their whereabouts and professions. He truly made an effort to make it meaningful by drawing from people personal lives. It was fun to try the chocolate sauce with spices and fruit. We learned about the chocolate production, the benefits of chocolate. We learned about vanilla, coffee, and sugar cain.
