The Bahamas Rum Cake Factory produces bundt rum cakes in several scrumptious flavors, like Pina Colada, banana, chocolate, and plain pound cake. The cakes are marinated in the famous Ole Nassau Rum, distilled in Nassau on New Providence Island, and they especially go great with ice cream. These cakes are available throughout the island as well as in the departure lounge at the Lynden Pindling International Airport and at Festival Place on Prince George Wharf. They are vacuum packed for shipping and will retain their flavor. You can get a tour of the facilities and free tastings when you visit. Homemade jams and jellies are also available. This tour was a great introduction to Nassau. Allison, our driver, was sweet and knowledgeable. Out the gate, we visited the store where they sell rum cakes. I love these cakes! I enjoyed learning about some of the history, current affairs, and locals. Some of the places I hoped to visit while here were completed on this tour like the Queen's Staircase, Straw Market, etc. It just freed up time to explore elsewhere.
I had a great experience with chippies tour! The tour guide was such a sweetheart!! She was very informative and she made the whole experience fun. I felt very safe in her care!! I would definitely recommend to book this experience with her!!
The overall tour was fun and interactive. The driver was really nice and explained a lot. I think some of the itinerary should be revised because we got there 30 mins early like specified and had no idea where to go and then the little shuttle came closer to start time instead. We also thought there would be more food tastings and stop at the fish fry but we just drove straight past it. Also spent 40 mins at Atlantis casino and shops which seems like a waste of time. Since you have to walk over there and that took about 5-10 mins to get there instead of being dropped off.
It is a great way to explore Nassau in 2 hours. To see, and listen/learn about the city through an honest and pleasant guide.
Wonderful exchange between guests and Fonzie. She was energetic, knowledgeable, friendly and funny! She imparted pertinent information about the island's industry, businesses and people. I loved that she also shared information about how Atlantis and Baha Mars impacted the locals. I would definitely recommend this tour!
Not worth the price or your time. The places we visited were not exciting at all. We stopped at a rum cake factory with the hopes that we would learn something about this traditional product, production or history, but nothing at all, they gave us a sample and shared the price and bye. Same with the tea company stop. We spent half of the tour sitting in traffic. The guide was nice but the tour content was not the best, we did not feel the culture at all. At one stop the driver even mentioned we were going to get samples of their traditional conch fritters abut when we arrived at the place they were did not have any....
When we arrive they were 10 mins late! The man pulled up and was advise by his manager that she was around the block to get us. An he loaded the other passenger on his van. & we had to wait in the hot sun for another 10 mins and when she showed up she we thought she was going to load up on her bus. Nope that didn't happen. She told us we going on his bus. & we all ask why did we have to wait if we was getting on the first bus that showed up ! She said because I said so. She was very rude and had no customer service skills. She basically said we get on the bus or get the money back. I personally wouldn't book with this company again. The tour bus driver guy he was great and friendly and shows us a good tour.
Fonzi was unbelievable- we so enjoyed ourselves! It was a wonderful 1st day experience in Nassau - we learned so much about the community and culture!!
Family..Birthday..the experience was not the best! The owner was not respectful of our time and no apologies. We arrived well in advance with my full party. She had a bus show up and would not allow my party who paid in advance over a month ago board she had her driver allow others who paid same day board 1st bus. Only to be told when she the owner (very rude a disrespectful) tell us you go on the 1st bus. I had a issue with that because she did not apologize for any inconvenience. So I said to her that was not cool my party as a whole was not happy how it happened. The owner YELLS if you dont like it you can go or get your money back. (NO manners) as a owner if you are not appreciative of tge business 😉 find another business. With that being said. I would never recommend for this tour. They rush you through the tour... a very dissatisfied group of 18 in our party. It could have been handled a lot better.
If you're on the fence, BOOK THIS TOUR! Fontella (aka Fonzy) was funny, knowledgeable, and made us feel like family from the moment we stepped on the shuttle. I'm pretty sure she knows half the island—and the other half knows her! 😂 Her cousin Caleb was the sweetest young man and an awesome co-guide. The open-air shuttle was exactly as pictured and the perfect way to explore the island. We had an amazing time and would 100% book this tour again!
