Highly recommend this tour. Was easy and smooth. The guide Abner was awesome and informative. Had a 56 year old and an 11 year old, and everyone was safe and enjoyed themselves!! Be prepared for rain.
This tour was a pleasant surprise! Our guide, Abner, was knowledgeable about the island and made sure we enjoyed our time. We appreciated our small group (just our family of 4 and another family of 3). We saw others carrying their own tube hiking towards the cave, while this tour already had the tubes waiting at the cave (choose this tour just for that alone!). The cave tubing was a lot of fun but the river tubing (after we got out of the cave)- think: lazy river, but with spectacular views of the rainforest!!! We loved this part even more! Highly recommend!
This was fantastic and fun Tour guide, Canton, was great. The jungle trek was a little difficult because we had to carry our tube for about a mile, but we managed.
“Shorty” was a wonderful guide for us throughout the entire excursion. Despite Belize’s traffic being horrendous (something that nobody has control over), he got us back to the tender port safely and on time! The cave itself was so beautiful and you could tell that he was very experienced in cave tubing/guiding. The only thing I would mention is don’t forget your waterproof phone pouch (like I did) if you want ANY pictures! Safe travels!
We chose this excursion because it worked with our cruise schedule. We were hoping for a smaller group than the typical cruise excursion, and got our wish as we were the only two people on the tour. It was about a 45 minutes drive to the caves, our guide Chap was very informative the entire trip. On the walk to the caves he pointed out several animals and plants and continued teaching us about them. We had to cross a couple streams, each person carrying their tube. It took about 15 minutes. Once inside the caves he pointed out several rock formations and animals, and shared some Mayan history about the caves. After the tour we stopped at a local restaurant for lunch. It was a good typical local meal: bone in chicken pieces, rice with beans mixed in, salad. Highly recommend this tour!
Our guide was super and the tube experience was out of this world but ……….. There was a lot of waiting at the port for other guests at the port due to it being a tender operation. You do need to queue early to get of your ship. We booked tube plus lunch but the guide kept mentioning a zip line. As we had not booked zip line we were taken to this activity and had to wait around for over an hour whilst other guests completed this activity. I booked a 4 hour 30 min activity that ended up being 6 hours 30 min which was unacceptable. The lunch was lovely. There was a long walk to start the tubing so be prepared. You have to carry your own tube this distance or get provider to carry tube for $5. Water shoes can be hired for $3.
Bring a towel and change of clothes. There is a changing area. Also closed sandals are good not flip flops. There is about a one mile walk to where you get into the tubes. You do get wet. Great experience and beautiful scenery.
The driver arrived at the terminal in time and waited for us. Hassle-free ride with fulfillment of a special request. The driver-led tyre ride through the cave was also impressive.
It was a lot of fun! The port was chaotic. We were on the star princess and the tender process was quite time consuming. When I made my reservation I put our arrival time as 8 am as listed on my itinerary and I was on the first tender but the loading process was quite long and we didn’t arrive into terminal 2 until 920 ish. We did not see anyone with blue Superman shirts but when asked they found our contact and we were walked down to a pickup spot. We had to wait for others but were on our way by 10. Our guide was very informative and we really enjoyed tubing through the cave. The lunch was very good. Be sure to bring water shoes and a waterproof pouch for your phone: we were back in port by 4 pm. Great tour!
tubing through the caves was great - better way to see than kayaking. Be prepared to forge rivers and hike for .8 mile - but worth it.
