Lovrijenac Fortress, also known as the "Fortress of St. Lawrence," is a striking symbol of Dubrovnik’s strength and independence, perched on a 37-meter-high cliff above the Adriatic Sea and the Old Town. Built in the 11th century, this imposing stronghold once guarded the city against attacks by land and sea. Its massive stone walls and strategic location reflect its historic importance, proudly bearing the Latin inscription Non Bene Pro Toto Libertas Venditur Auro—"Freedom is not to be sold for all the gold in the world." Today, Lovrijenac is a must-see site, offering stunning views and hosting cultural performances, including those of the renowned Dubrovnik Summer Festival.

Dubrovnik’s Old City Walls are an awe-inspiring medieval fortification that surrounds the city’s historic heart. Constructed mainly between the 12th and 17th centuries, these impressive stone walls extend for nearly 2 kilometers and reach heights of up to 25 meters. Lined with formidable towers, bastions, and ancient gates, they provide sweeping views of the Adriatic Sea and the iconic terracotta rooftops of the Old Town. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, the walls are a symbol of Dubrovnik’s storied past and enduring strength, drawing visitors from all over the world.

Just 600 meters from the coast of Dubrovnik, Lokrum Island offers a peaceful, green retreat steeped in history and natural charm. Covered in dense pine forests and dotted with exotic botanical gardens, the island is also home to freely roaming peacocks. Visitors can explore the ruins of a 12th-century Benedictine monastery, climb a Napoleonic-era fortress for sweeping views, or take a dip in the Dead Sea—a small saltwater lake tucked into the landscape. According to legend, Richard the Lionheart found shelter on Lokrum after surviving a shipwreck. Today, the island is a protected nature reserve, easily reached by ferry and ideal for a quiet escape from the city.

30 min

Betina Cave is a hidden natural treasure tucked into the coastline near Dubrovnik, Croatia. Reachable only by boat or kayak, this secluded spot offers a peaceful escape from the city's more crowded beaches. Sheltered by dramatic cliffs, the cave opens up to a small pebble beach and strikingly clear turquoise waters—ideal for swimming and snorkeling. Surrounded by untouched nature, Betina Cave delivers a quiet, intimate atmosphere, making it a favorite for adventurers and travelers looking to explore a lesser-known side of Dubrovnik.

40 min

St. Jacob’s Beach (Sveti Jakov) is a secluded treasure just 1.5 kilometers east of Dubrovnik’s Old Town. Tucked beneath a cliff and framed by lush greenery, this peaceful pebble beach boasts breathtaking views of the city walls, Lokrum Island, and the shimmering Adriatic Sea. Reached by a stairway descent, the beach offers clear turquoise waters, a cozy café, and opportunities for kayaking or paddleboarding. Its calm ambiance and scenic beauty make it a beloved escape for both locals and travelers looking to unwind away from the crowds.

Excellent family friendly trip

Excellent family friendly trip. Lokrum Island was beautiful with plenty to keep children entertained exploring the island. Both snorkling spots were lovely and lots of fish to see snorkling off St Jacob’s beach. I am was a great guide for the trip and my children loved his choice of music for the boat. Would highly recommend.

Awesome experience, encompassing a one hour trip to Lokrum Island (Nature Reserve), the amazing Betina Cave Beach with snorkeling option, and finally St Jacob's beach.
