This was a very disappointing experience. First, they made us wait for an hour to pick up another client. San Basilio de Palenque surely would be a very interesting place to learn about, but clients were treated as school kids. The guide repeatedly announced things that never happened.
Our guide was very attentive and nice. I recommend this tour. The city cultivates its history in a brilliant way. Very welcoming place.

Please book this tour when visiting Colombia ! Our tour guide Keider was friendly , witty and gave us a great oral history of the historical village that is Palenque. My group and I visited a traditional Palenque house , a traditional herbalist doctor in the village , and were greeted by the beautiful Palenque people. Tips for this tour : 1. It is hot . I recommend bringing a visor , umbrella or hat or even small hand towel. Also bring a bottle of water to stay hydrated. The tour includes one free bottle of water. After that you are on your own. 2. Walking! You will be walking a lot . Some of the roads are unpaved so wear something comfortable on your feet. However, I wore sandals and a dress only because I wanted a certain look in my photos(lol). 3. Walk with Colombian money to give donations or tips for the people of the village and tour guides to show gratitude. 4. Book this tour TODAY!!!
Our Tour Guide Kieder was extremely knowledgeable and explained everything you need to know about Palenque. Great Experience ! I recommend this excursion if you are interested n learning about the black history of Palenque. FYI: This tour required a lot of walking. make sure you wear comfortable shoes. bring water. even though you can purchase some.
