We arrived in Carcasonne 2 hours early. Using the address given our map took us to a residential neighborhood. We walked all the way back to town & asked multiple people for directions, but no one seemed to know where this meeting spot was. We tried calling but the call wouldn’t go thru. So we spent our day looking for the meeting spot provided & finally gave up at 4pm.
Dear customer, we are very sorry about your misfortune, but our meeting point is clearly indicated in the booking, and you also have a detail given to you which is "Your guide will be waiting for you at the bottom of "Dame Carcas" statue." It is used by our customers since 2015, and it is the first time that someone had trouble with it. For the call, we give you the name and telephone number of the tour guide that will do the tour for you, and if he/she is already on tour when you call, you don't get answers that is normal. Sorry again for all your experience, but for almost 10 years that we work for Carcassonne, first time we have this return. Regards AKOPSO
Jaqueline did a wonderful job of telling the story of Carcassone cite, making it humorous and exciting for our kids. She is unique and fun and I would recommend her for this tour! There were a couple of issues, however- on the Viator end of things. First of all, the directions and address for our meeting spot were not correct or clear. This made us over 30 min late and had to pay for a taxi. Also, I learned that Jaqueline only gets paid $150 for the tour, while we paid $400!. Shame on you Viator, for not passing the profits on to those doing the work. We won’t book with Viator again.
Dear Sara, Thank you for your return on your experience with our tour guide "Jacqueline". Concerning the meeting point, I have checked and you had the correct meeting point, It seems like you did the mistake yourself. Concerning the selling price, Viator is taking 30% of commission, and we have 20% of french VAT, the rest is split between our agency and the tour guide. Important to clear that point. Regards AKOPSO
Gwendoline was very knowledgeable and brought a lot of personality to the tour. She did a great job of engaging my three daughters (14, 12 and 10). I highly recommend!
Jacqueline was introduced as the best tour guide in Carcassonne and I'd have to agree! Super knowledgeable about the history of Carcassonne and took us on a lovely walking tour of the castle. I'd recommend doing some reading ahead of time so you have questions or go with a larger group to get more out of it.
The knowledge our guide Caroline had of architecture and history . A perfect explanation in good English
Morgane was a fantastic guide! We had such a great time. Her knowledge of the history, construction and stories about Carcassone was excellent. We highly recommend.
Jacqueline was fantastic. She brought the history of the Medieval Cite alive. She was a fabulous story teller and funny. One of our favorite tours ever!
Have a nice tour of the city , but regret paying for audio guides who have been of no help, so complex is their handling.. the devices we used elsewhere, including more than 20 years ago, were far superior... In addition the indications on the signs, no longer correspond!!! We will return for a tour with guide .. but certainly not using these audio guides!
Bonjour, merci pour votre retour mais les audio guides ne sont pas notre propriétés et ne concerne pas notre entreprise et le produit en ligne. Au plaisir de faire visiter la ville avec un de nos guides sur Carcassonne. TOUR FRANCE EXPERIENCE
