We gather at Independence Square, one of Colombo’s most iconic landmarks, known for its grand colonial architecture and peaceful surroundings. This location is ideal for warming up with your camera, learning how to use light and shadow, and practicing symmetry and framing techniques. We'll also take a few minutes here to introduce ourselves, discuss the walk plan, and talk about each participant's creative goals. The shaded corridors and majestic stone pillars make for great architectural and portrait shots.

Our next stop is the iconic Gangaramaya Temple, a sacred space that beautifully blends Sri Lankan, Thai, Indian, and Chinese architectural styles. From intricate carvings and Buddha statues to colorful shrines and antique collections, this location offers endless inspiration for detail shots, textures, and cultural storytelling. We'll focus on capturing respectful yet powerful images that reflect the temple’s spiritual atmosphere and visual richness.

From sacred serenity to coastal charm, we move to the Colombo Lighthouse, a colonial-era structure that still stands tall near the Port of Colombo. Though it's no longer open for climbing, the area around it offers sweeping views of the sea, port activity, and striking urban contrast. This stop is perfect for experimenting with leading lines, silhouettes, and wide-angle shots as we transition toward more open and dramatic compositions.

Galle Face Green serves as a beloved gathering spot for both locals and visitors. The promenade is perfect for leisurely strolls, kite flying, and enjoying stunning sunsets over the Indian Ocean. Evenings bring the area to life with street vendors offering Sri Lankan delicacies like isso vade (spicy lentil patties topped with prawns), mango slices with chili and salt, and other flavorful snacks.
