With more time on the water, you’ll see tidewater glaciers and rugged shoreside scenery while increasing your opportunities to spot whales, puffins, otters, sea lions and more.
Cruise your way around Cape Ailiak, and get a first look at Aialik Bay and its surrounding glaciers. Look for mountain peaks emerging from the fields of snow and ice of Harding Icefield.
Visit one of two spectacular tidewater glaciers, Aialik or Holgate. Like Aialik, Holgate Glacier is surrounded by steep cliffs, dense forests and towering mountain peaks. You may see spectacular calving events as ice chunks break and crash into the ocean. Though rare, black bears have been sighted on the beaches in Holgate arm.

Great tour with lots of exciting wildlife, including a repeatedly-breaching whale (!!) and up-close glacier views. While conditions may have been normal for a Seward July in the Gulf of Alaska, the pitch and roll of the boat was too much for my wife even though she was wearing the patch throughout our cruise. She was quite miserable for this extended trip. If we’d have known what was coming I’m sure I would have gone solo or we’d have found a different adventure. It’s worth the trip, if you can enjoy it.
Beautiful cruise. Crew is extremely nice and attentive. Food was amazing, yes, the lunch was really good and fresh baked cookies. Scenery was unmatched even when cloudy and a little rain. I suggest you take Dramamine to be safe. A few people were ill for some of the cruise. Not worth it to risk it. It was rough for a bit due to the weather.
The crew was super helpful and attending to us. Saw humpback whales, puffins, sea otters, porpoise, and so much more!
Wonderful wildlife and glacier , everyone has a seat inside but dress in layers it can get windy and cold outside. Great staff and a delicious hot lunch.

Captain Emma and crew were beyond amazing. The captain’s choice allows the captain to alter route to adjust for wildlife reports. We saw it all. Hump back whales bubble netting, Orcas, sea otters, puffins, glaciers, bald eagles, porpoises, sea lions, harbor seals. Perfect weather. Your mileage may vary.

Phenomenal experience! We took the Captain’s Choice tour. Captain Emma was fantastic. You can feel her passion for Alaska, Sears, and wildlife. She spotted all animals and steered the boat safely as close as she could so we could all see it. We saw orcas, humpback whale, sea lions, sea otters, puffins. Amazing! Seeing Aialik Glacier was a dreamy experience. The crew was great as well - they served burrito lunch and warm chocolate chip cookies at the end of the tour. Remember to dress warmly, take warm jacket, hats, and gloves. You will need them. And if you get seasick, remember to take meds.

The trip itself was excellent but we were extremely unhappy with the boarding process. We asked the front desk if it's possible for us to board before everyone else because we have a son with autism and he can't stand in the line for very long. Our concern was completely dismissed. The front desk person was named Jacob. The cruise didn't come across as disability friendly. They seemed to be only worried about people with a physical disability and not about people with neurological or mental disability. We travel extensively and not once have we received such insensitive behavior. Our son is severely impacted by autism. I sincerely hope the crew gets more trained in being sensitive around families that are traveling with special need kids.
Hello, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We are sorry to hear that the boarding process did not meet your expectations and that it created additional stress for your family. Our Guest Service Agents are trained to provide priority boarding for guests with mobility needs, including those using wheelchairs and other ADA accommodations. Based on your description, it appears there may have been a misunderstanding regarding your request. If this had not been able to be resolved at the front desk, we would have appreciated the opportunity to have a manager assist, as we always want to explore reasonable accommodations whenever possible. While our team is well trained in ADA boarding procedures related to mobility, we recognize that situations involving autism and other non-visible disabilities may require a different approach. Your feedback highlights an area where we can improve our training and awareness so we can better serve guests with a wider range of accessibility needs. We sincerely apologize that this experience impacted what should have been an enjoyable cruise for your family. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention, and we wish you and your family all the best.
