This excursion to Capri was overall a very enjoyable experience and well worth doing. The meeting point was easy to find and the departure was on time. Anastasia was friendly, helpful and well organized throughout the day. The boat crew was also extremely attentive and pleasant, making the journey comfortable and enjoyable. The only disappointing part was the departure area at Torre del Greco. The surroundings were very dirty, and the café recommended for coffee and restroom facilities was not up to standard. Although it was possible to have a coffee there, the restroom facilities were inadequate and not properly maintained. The boat trip itself was excellent, and the arrival in Capri was very well organized. We were given four hours of free time to explore the island. Unfortunately, Capri was extremely crowded, with thousands of visitors, making it difficult to move around and fully enjoy some areas. This is obviously not the fault of the tour operator, but it did affect the overall experience. Despite the crowds, I was able to explore the island, reach the seaside and even enjoy a swim, which made the visit memorable. The return journey was smooth and well organized. Overall, this was a very good excursion with an excellent guide and crew. Capri is a beautiful destination, and I am glad I chose this tour.
We were happy as we reached the counter and she told us we could take an optional boat to the blue grotto first which we did. We waited an hour on the boat for our turn and then had an amazing experience in the grotto. On our return we got another boat ( leaves every 15 mins) that took is around the island. The boats were not crowded and we had a great experience.
HP Travel has a terrific team for the Naples/Capri day trips. They were organized, clear with their communication, and interested that their guests enjoyed themselves. I took the Capri tour that included a 30-minute swim and loved it. I also found it very helpful, as a solo traveler, that they had an option for a Naples shuttle pick up. Anastasia and the team are great!
We hopped on the boat for just the blue grotto tour, waited in line at the blue grotto for about an hour and got to see it. It appears to be mass chaos but it really wasn’t bad. Our skipper took care to make sure we got in and other boats didn’t skip the line. When we were finished the boat took us back to the dock. We could have gone out to do the island tour after we got back but we were satisfied with the blue grotto. It was worth the price and the wait. I would definitely recommend it!
Very nice boat trip around the island. The guide demonstrated knowledge and the boat was conducted very safely
I’d recommend getting to Capri earlier and hop on the earliest boat to the Blue Grotto so it’s not a long wait in a rocking boat then you can wander in Capri until the actual tour. The Blue Grotto is breathtaking!
Did not want the queues and crowds of Pompei so hopped on the hydrofoil to the beautiful island of Capri. Small and perfectly formed with good eateries close to the harbour. Some really nice little shops that were scrupulously clean and we bought a few bits and pieces. Definitely take the Funicular up to the top unless you are super fit and want the challenge. Had some lunch close to the station and views were amazing. Cute little shops and small alleyways crammed with retail were worth exploring. Although it is busy it did not feel claustrophobic and queue for Funicular moves quite fast with 2 trains in operation. Boat trips look good but we did not have time to explore this option. Definitely recommend this as a day trip.
Not enough time. If you are not staying on Capri this may not be the experience for you. The earliest ferry to get you to Capri from Amalfi(the closest ferry port) is 9:30. By the time you walk to the office to redeem your tickets and walk back to the ferry port to get on the 1 of 2 tiny boats thats 30 minutes. The you are directed to an dock that has zero organization. No one to direct you or tell you where you're going or need to go. The same dock has people purchasing grotto tickets from a booth for the same boats. So does booking in advance help. Not really. You're pressed in like cattle and standing in the sun for an hour. The boat ride to the grotto is great till you stop and wait 90 minutes to eventually get into the blue grotto, a separate cost of course. The operators of the row boats are great, but expect a €40 tip. By the time you get back you have to decide if you do the second boat tour or go up to capri( additional cost, not worth it at all, unless you a hedge fund baby) or go to Anacapri via taxi. You will have time for 1 thing, boat, Capri or anacapri. Unless you want to be left by the last ferry and spend the night in capri.
Pretty easy to find the operators office even though the number was a little off from the one posted in the instructions. The line at the dock was also fairly easy to navigate. The tour around the island was great. The narration from the guide was in English and Italian, and very informative. Unfortunately the blue grotto was not available that morning but we were prepared for the eventuality.
It was a nice experience we would’ve hoped it would’ve been longer seeing the Capri coast, but overall it was great! highly recommend.
