Cappadocia Pottery Workshop Class with Hotel Transfer

Description
This experience stands out because it offers a rare opportunity to engage with Cappadocia’s ancient pottery tradition in its original setting. Unlike standard workshops, you’ll work with Avanos’ famous red clay—the same material used by artisans for thousands of years—and learn directly from master potters who continue to preserve these age-old techniques. The process is completely hands-on, allowing you not only to observe but to truly feel the heritage of the region as you shape your own piece. It’s an immersive cultural encounter where history, craftsmanship, and creativity come together, giving you a one-of-a-kind souvenir made entirely by you.

The experience overall was great, I would have liked more time actually working with the clay, that’s my only feedback (only about five minutes of actual pottery working), but everything else was great. Pick up and drop off was timely and communication was great. Was fun to make my own piece of pottery to take home (just be prepared, it won’t be cured) and time to paint your own ceramic coaster was fun. The information about the history of pottery was nice and the shop was beautiful…just more time having fun with the clay would have been nice!
Thank you so much for your kind review. We are very happy to hear that you enjoyed your Cappadocia experience with us. Hope to see you again in Turkey!
We were picked up and taken to the pottery. We then each had a turn on the potters wheel. The potter really helped us get the technique to make our pots. Then Melissa gave us a history of the local pottery. Then we were taken to another room to paint a tile. Then we were shown all the different items you could buy. There were different rooms with a price for everyone. We then were taken to last room for a surprise but I won't spoil it. We had an amazing time and I recommend the trip.

We were picked up by Ibrahim and taken to the pottery. Me and my husband went one after the other to make our pots. We were expertly guided by the potter. We were so happy with our pots. We were then given a history of the local pottery by Melissa. She was very good. We then went through and painted a couple of tiles. They then showed us all the different rooms with amazing ceramics. The last room was fantastic but I won't spoil the surprise. We bought a couple of items and then Ibrahim took us back to our hotel. I would highly recommend this. It was such fun and very informative. Thank you to all xx

A wonderful way to spend an afternoon. The entire experience was very educational; we learned so much about the traditional methods passed down over centuries. Getting to make clay pots ourselves and do some artistic work made it a highlight of our trip. Highly recommend this workshop for anyone looking for an authentic and enlightening experience.
