Just east of the Capitol you will visit the U.S Supreme Court, the highest court within the hierarchy of courts in many legal jurisdictions. Completes in 1935, you will be able to enjoy the Court’s stunning exterior whilst learn about all the history and tradition tied to it. Afterwards you will visit the Library of Congress, the research library that officially serves the U.S Congress and is considered the national library of the United States. The oldest federal cultural institution in the United States, the 1897 Thomas Jefferson building reveals an Italian-Renaissance style architecture. Inside one of the main highlights includes the beautiful circular main reading room with its 160ft ceiling.
Inside the Capitol lies the U.S Capitol Visitor Centre, a large underground addition to the Capitol complex, which serves as a gathering point for up to 4000 tourists and an expansion space for the US Congress. Here you will be informed about the unique characteristics of the House, the Senate and U.S legislative process, as well as learn about the history and development of architecture of the Capitol. Our guide will end the tour providing access passes (and information about security protocols) for the visitor’s galleries of the current chambers for the House of Representatives and or the Senate, to be seen at your leisure. This tour was much more than we expected. Annemarie, our guide, was extremely knowledgeable and truly enjoys what she does.
Our guide, Debra, was passionate and knowledgable and engaged even our non-history leaning family in an inspiring tour of the U.S. Capitol, Supreme Court, and Library of Congress. She balanced great information and fun with time to explore on our own, and even managed to keep us out of the blistering heat as much as possible. Excellent and highly recommended!

Amanda is the best guide in DC! We had an amazing time touring DC with Amanda! She guided us through the US Capitol, the Supreme Court, and the Library of Congress. Her knowledge of DC history is truly impressive, and she kept us engaged and entertained the entire time. She is incredibly warm, professional, and clearly passionate about what she does. If you want to see the best of DC without the stress of navigating it yourself, you have to book a tour with Amanda as it made our trip.
Such a wonderful guide with Maribeth and the stories and insights were amazing. We couldn't get inside the Supreme Court but we were given info on what was happening there which was great. Seeing The Library of Congress was easy and she even came with us to the Galleries after the tour. Hearing her past only emphasised where we were and what we were seeing. Highly recommend her and the tour company!
