Cliff was extremely personable, funny, adaptable, and open to questions. It made sense to learn he’s a school teacher. Besides driving us around and teaching us local history, he told us about his own personal experiences and the proper use of authentic dialect. He’s a proud Islander, and his love of the rock was infectious. It was apparent everyone enjoyed the experience.
The tour was well managed. The tour guide was friendly and knowledgeable. I wish the stop at Cape Spear could have been longer. I would have liked to walk up to the lighthouse and the Southernmost point but the stop was only for 20 minutes. So I had to choose between the two. I chose to walk down to the Southernmost point and settled with taking pictures from afar of the lighthouse. This was the only stop in the tour that had a restroom, so that took away more time out of the 20 minutes.
Great tour! Alex, Chad were both great guides with interesting stories and tidbits
Great tour. Saw a lot of the island and still had time to walk around town. Tour guide was very knowledgeable and pleasant. Great for families and elderly as there is not a lot of necessary walking unless you choose to walk up to the lighthouses. Can very easily stay in the gift shops.
Awesome tour guide. Very friendly and knowledgeable. Learned so much about the area. Never felt rushed like other tours.
My husband has walking issues. This tour made it easy to walk only as far as he could or stay on the bus and still get a good view of the sites.
Barbara our guide was very knowledgeable but did not always tell you which side of the bus we should be looking at.
Excellent driver and well versed tour guide. She answered all of our questions. Kudos to her and our driver.
St John’s is very hilly so I was very appreciative to have a ride to the top of Signal Hill. Quidi vidi and Cape Spear were beautiful. Ride around the city was great to see the jelly bean houses and other sites of interest. Pickup was. Convenient to pier. Only complaint was our time at each location was cut short since the tour waited 15 minutes for last passengers to arrive at the pickup point and at one stop six passengers were late 15 minutes getting back on bus.
We did a five day group tour of eastern Newfoundland and then a five day private tour ending in Gander. Our guide, Steve Gosse, was great! We had him for the entire 10 days. He was knowledgeable, kind, and entertaining. We saw many fabulous sites and were impressed by the kindness of the locals. We saw whales, puffins and icebergs. Thank you, Steve!
