A heartfelt thank you to Quyen for giving us an unforgettable river tour. Her passion for her culture was truly inspiring, and she explained everything in great detail while taking excellent care of us throughout the trip. Together with the woman who steered the boat, she created a warm and enjoyable atmosphere. This was a truly special experience that I will never forget. Highly recommended!
Anh was a great guide who made the experience very fun but informative. Loved the coffee on the boat and all the food. A perfect amount and time and a great group.
Cory was a fantastic guide! He had a clear enthusiasm about his home that was infectious. Our group also had 2 Vietnamese locals, so he worked to accommodate them by doing the tour in Vietnamese as well as English!
Fantastic time with Anh (Sophia). We were fortunate to have a private tour. We toured the Cai Rang market. Had coffee and Hi Tieu to start our day on the Mekong River. Moved onto a smaller river where we experienced the quieter village life. Had a cooking lesson for Banh Khot - Anh was a great teacher! Great visits to a local homestay for an insight into local life and then a later visit to a floating market home. All in all a great morning and great tour !
We had a great day with Cory, our guide. He introduced us to the floating markets of the Mekong, a timeless experience that allowed us to taste a local dish that we would not have been able to discover without this excursion. We also enjoyed the non-tourist setting that the rest of the walk offered us. The cooking course allowed us to enjoy hearty in a peaceful setting. We recommend this bubble of happiness!! Cory is very kind and will teach you a lot about the reality of the river!
We had an early start at 5.30am but Sophia our guide was wonderful. The history and information she provided brought everything to life. We got the opportunity to visit a home stay, mini cooking class of Vietnamese pancakes while there. We clambered over and delved into the houseboats on at the river, provided with great coffee and fresh orange juice and noodle soup breakfast while visiting the market. Very engaging morning and highly recommended. We were back at the dock at 11.30.
I went on a tour to the Cai rang market and surrounding area today. I loved it! It was so interesting to see the people living and trading, I feel lucky to see it before it becomes a thing of the past. The tour was well thought out - it was interesting to visit the small village, and I loved being invited into the boat people's home. Our tour guide was Sophia, and she was the best tour guide I've had - so caring, friendly, engaging, and fun! It was such a privilege to meet her and be on her trip. I was really sad to see all of the trash in the canals, and hope that one day single use plastics will be banned, and perhaps in the meantime, government or the tour companies that make their living from the river can engage in a clean up project.
This is the non-touristy, off-the-beaten path tour we wanted in Can Tho! And our guide Cory delivered. His pride in and passion for his southern Vietnam culture was evident in how he explained life along the Mekong River. We enjoyed his company and his knowledge. Our favourite part of the tour was the boat ride.
The trip was super cool. The floating market was very interesting and also the drive through the river channel. We had a very nice boater who bought us extra fruit and pastries to try and explained to us during the trip palm trees, plants, fruits etc. There were only two of us on the boat, everything relaxed and no tourist hassle. The proceeds went directly to the boater, which we found very good. We can only recommend this!
Absolutely wonderful experience. We didn't know what to expect. Our guide, Quyen was knowledgeable, straightforward and warm. There was sunrise coffee, tropical fruits galore, delicious breakfast, a village tour, and more. We felt part of a small temporary family, it was so well done. Highly recommended!
