Come for the Pyramids, stay for the food. Most are unaware that Egyptian food is one of the most interesting and nuanced in the region. Forget the tourist bazaar of Khan-el-Khalili where high-pressured sales is the name of the game. On our daily small-group Cairo street food tour, you'll be lead around the backstreets of Old Cairo diving in humble eateries that have been serving locals for generations. Come hungry because there are plenty of things to try along the way. Expect smoky charcoal-grilled koftas, pickled vegetables from a two century all factory, feteer pastries and piquant spiced kushari. There's fava bean falafels (quite different from their Middle-Eastern counterparts) and zesty aubergines, plump crisp-fried shrimps and freshly baked flat breads. There's coffee roasters and slow-cooked lamb among many more. This is more than just a food tour though. It's a cultural lesson, it's a journey through the backstreets of Old Cairo, places that you'd just never find alone.

Amazing food tour in old Cairo. Our guide Nada was the best- super knowledgeable, friendly and passionate about food. We had 12 delicious food and drink tastings in total and loved them all. It was a great way to see the real Cairo away from the tourists, whilst enjoying amazing traditional food.
I had a fantastic food tour in Cairo with Nada as our guide. She was incredibly friendly, polite, and clearly passionate about her work, with great knowledge of the local food and culture. Thanks to her strong connections with locals, we were taken to authentic spots I would never have discovered on my own. Every dish we tried was delicious, especially the lamb kebabs, and one of my favorite moments was sitting on the street with locals, enjoying tea and soaking up the atmosphere. Overall, it was an amazing experience exploring Cairo through its food, and I’d highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting the city.
A truly wonderful experience and insight into local culture and food with stops in places you wouldn't think of trying The guide was knowledgeable about the food and architecture and nothing to much trouble Just make sure you have an appetite. Enjoy
Had an amazing experience with Nada who showed us around the streets of old Cairo and trying all the Egyptian delicacies. Was very cool to see the real Cairo, people watching and explore places I would have never been able to visit without her knowledge. Tried too many great foods to name, koshary, kofte, juices, teas, coffees, etc. Can highly recommend on your next trip!
So good! The food was great, and we went to places you would never go as a tourist. Sama is so amazing - we learned so much about Cairo and Egypt in general. A wonderful evening with a wonderful person!

We had the pleasure of joining Sama for the Cairo Night Food Tour. The tour was great with a great mix of sit down dishes as well as small bites and drinks on the way. We only visited small local businesses that we would never have found ourselves. If you are into food and adventure - just do it!

My husband and I really enjoyed our food tour with Nada. She took us to a vibrant area that was full of life and locals and we got to see a side of Cairo we would never have experienced on our own. The tastings were great - tasty and authentically quotidian (not fancy, not dressed up for tourists) and all enjoyed in local hole-in-the-wall places amid the hustle and bustle of regular folks living their lives and running errands before Ramadan. Highlight was sitting out in the street on rickety chairs enjoying thick Egyptian coffee with grilled kofta and lamb. Nada was great at providing historical and cultural context during the tour and kept a good pace. She was especially invaluable in getting us a ride back to our hotel. We would highly recommend this tour. Best roving Egyptian dinner ever!!
