What an amazing way to experience all Cairns has to offer in 3 days. All the days were different but magical in their own ways. The professionalism, knowledge and friendliness of all the staff was first class. You are never rushed , the equipment they provide is excellent and the value is great. Thank you , you have made Cairns a special memory for us
5 stars! I’ve never left a review, but this tour package made it feel like a must. The teams at Down Under Cruise & Dive , Billy Tea Safaris and Skyrail were welcoming and exceptional - they made my experience in Cairns so memorable! Highly recommended! Day 1: Evolution Full Day Reef Cruise To start our day, we were welcomed by the friendly and experienced cruise members of the Evolution. Our trip to the Reef was bumpy due to the wind, and I got rather sick. One of the cruise members was very helpful, they made sure to check on me and directed me to a more ventilated area of the boat - that made me feel better, enough to enjoy the beauty of the Great Barrier Reef. Buffet lunch included salads, prawns, grilled fish and steak, scones and muffins - not exactly my style, but undoubtedly decent. Day 2: Daintree Rainforest Tour Daniel, our tour guide, was funny, friendly, knowledgeable and extremely dedicated. He even went the extra mile to make sure our group got to see the cassowaries in the Daintree Forest. Thank you, Daniel! Day 3: Kuranda Train and Skyrail Kuranda and the Butterfly Sanctuary were absolutely beautiful. I am grateful and impressed that the team made sure to book me a window seat facing forward on the train back to Cairns. The view that I got was spectacular.
The 3 day deal is a a very good deal. Both the reef cruise and rainforest days were fantastic and operated by a first class outfit. We both commented on how well run the boat and ground tours were done. Slight down grade to the Kuranda sky rail day as the town is a typical tourist trap and the train ride was acceptable but not necessarily exceptional. Skyrail was cool and an interesting way to see more rainforest. Tips: realize that there are extra costs on the reef tour for diving, or snorkel guide, but well worth it. The reef tour also has a semi-submergible extra that is also worth the extra cost. Lunch is provided, and very good for a tour. Don’t expect gourmet, but a nice spread ala buffet style. Same for the day for the rain forest, a good sit down meal served for lunch at a restaurant and was an unexpected surprise. Both are full day efforts so expect to be exhausted at end of day. Overall this is a good way to experience Cairns adventures. The skyrail was an easier day with a later start and mostly just sitting to see scenery, with a couple of platform stops for forest observation and waterfalls. We were glad we chose this combination option to experience the area.
Really fun set of excursions and great price to have the 3 days bundled together like this! I had a marvelous time.
Fantastic communication before coming so I knew exactly what to expect. All went exactly how planned and each place had our name. The only problem I had was I needed WiFi to communicate since I was from the United States and I think they tried to text me one time. All got straitened out and went smoothly. Thank you!!
full day aboard the motorboat Evolution to enjoy the Great Barrier Reef. Great Service on board, coffee and tea during navigation, lunch between dives. It is provided, both for diving and snorkeling, all the equipment, in my case mask, snorkel and wetsuit anti jellyfish. Hot water and colorful fish. Too bad the seabed. Almost the majority of the corals are dead and gray.
Thank you so much for the 5 star rating and for choosing to adventure with us to the reef aboard Evolution!
Far North Queensland is beautiful. And the three day pass was good value. The trip to the reef was amazing and the snorkelling was a definite highlight. Cape Tribulation, Mossman Gorge and the Daintree - also highlights. Kuranda was a total disappointment. The train up and cable car back was interesting, but Kuranda was tired and completely tourist-driven. My pass meant I had to spend 4 hours there. After the firat 30 min, there wasn't much to see or do.
Oh no sorry to read you didn't enjoy much Kuranda! Great to read you loved your time with us aboard Evolution!
From start to finish, everything was great. Pick up on time, our drivers were very knowledgeable and courteous. We thoroughly enjoyed the snorkeling. Very professional crew. And the Daintree Rainforest day was a lot 9f fun. Would highly recommend this combo tour.
So great to read you enjoyed your 3 day package!
We flew to Cairns from Sydney to enjoy the 3 day trip outlined by Viator as a SuperSaver. Aside from the extreme heat it was super fun and a great value. The first day, the Great Barrier Reef we had to walk to the pier (5 minutes since we stayed at the Mantra Esplanade in town). The crew was thorough with instructions, we were provided stinger suits because of the jellyfish and we went to 2 areas of the reef. The sea was quite rough and I took trava calm (available for purchase on the boat) right away since I get motion sickness. Glad I did as the majority of the passengers were goners before we got to the first reef. Crew again was helpful with people being seasick. Food was provided-just okay. I didn’t like that snacks provided on the way back had people grabbing cheese and crackers and fruit with their hands to put on napkins. They should have provided serving ware and paper plates. The reef was colorful and we enjoyed the snorkeling. They have a photographer who takes photos below the water that are for sale. I bought 2 that were airdropped to my phone. A little pricey, but such cool photos! Our train trip to Kuranda was really fun, but hot. We stopped once to stretch our legs and a photo opportunity. In kuranda we we went to the koala area (extra fee) and held a koala (extra fee). But how often do you get to do that? Well worth it. Shopping and eating took up the rest of the time in Kuranda. We took a gondola ride down with stops-beautiful views! Cape Tribulation-we had a great guide, Mal, who took good care of us all day. We went to Featherdale Park where we got to feed kangaroos and wallabys and saw many animals! Hot sticky hike into Mossman Gorge, but so pretty! Mal pointed out all kinds of things. We took a ferry ride to a back country resort for lunch where you could opt for exotic food if you wanted. Lastly we took a river boat ride to look for saltwater crocs. We loved all 3 days-so worth the time and expense to fly to Cairns.
So great to read you enjoyed 3 day package with us!
This was a great tour option to book! The first day was a tour of the Great Barrier Reef. The boat was very clean and lunch was delicious. They offer extras on board, and we did the guided snorkelling tour and submarine tour. I think doing one of two is enough, as they give the same information, but it's super informative. The second day was Kuranda. The skyrail down was the highlight of that day! The third day is the Daintree Rainforest and Cape Tribulation tour. The guide is super knowledgable about local plant life and vegetation, and the beach at Cape Tribulation is gorgeous. Would highly recommend this tour, as everything is well organized and the guides are very nice!
Thank you so much for joining us for the three day package! Its so wonderful to read you enjoyed your adventures with us Judy!
