Saw incredible birds but also a variety of animals including 2 types of mongoose, deer, lizards, and 2 types of monkeys. On the way saw water buffalo. Cattle were grazing along the main highway, even on the medium. They have crocodiles and we were able to see their eyes in the water but not their whole bodies. The park was less than 30 minutes away so got there quickly and had plenty of time for driving around. The jeep was comfortable. It had a cover so you were protected from the sun.
Imagine our surprise, when we ended up at yala, which wasn't listed in the description, it was the best surprise ever. And one of the most incredible safaris We wonder why it's not listed that you're actually going to both parks. That's something that the provider may want to look into other than that.It was the most perfect day.I can't recommend this company more
We did see many birds and land animals. We did not realize how (for seniors) difficult it was to get up and down from the vehicles. Driver Laksha was helpful with that, and a good guide overall.
We had a great birding safari in Bundala, organized by Lakpura. I had initially booked with TripAdvisor, then canceled because I was concerned about getting back to my cruise ship on time. A Lakpura representative reached out to me to see if there was a problem they could help with. Indeed, they were able to offer a trip at a time that worked great for our cruise arrival and departure. We had a comfortable air-conditioned car and careful driver from the cruise terminal to the park, where we transferred to our safari vehicle and park guide. The trip in the park was fantastic. In addition to fabulous birds, we saw an elephant quietly grazing, so close that my video recorded his munching sounds. We also saw two kinds of monkeys, land monitors, and crocodiles. Our guide, Lena, was very good at spotting, and was able to identify all of the birds and other animals. He had a bird book and showed us the entries for many species as we stopped to view. He was also an excellent driver on the rutted park roads. I highly recommend working with Lakpura to book a Bundala tour. From their website you can contact them, and link up in WhatsApp to converse easily.

Well organised drive with knowledgeable guide. Saw lots & had a fantastic experience. Thank you. Clear comms & pick up from & drop off to cruise port. Only negative was we had agreed to share a driver, but they had given the other couple a different pick up time. Was only 30 mins, so once they arrived, off we went for this great trip. Thank you.
Booked 3hr jeep safari trip via viator, with loc rep Lakpura LLC. Communication with both Viator and Lakpura was very efficient. Similar our driver was waiting for us at the Port. Good safe driver and he was very knowledgeable about the wildlife we saw, particularly the names of the numerous birds we saw. A good, fun trip. Would recommend.
