Buenos Aires, In Depth

Description
This experience is designed for travelers who want to go beyond the usual tour and engage with Buenos Aires in a more personal and thoughtful way. Rather than following a fixed script, the day unfolds through a curated route that connects nature, history, architecture, and everyday life. From the open landscapes of the Reserva Ecológica to the historic depth of Plaza de Mayo, from elegant galleries to vibrant neighborhoods and lesser-known residential areas, each stop offers a different perspective on the city. Along the way, you’ll explore both iconic landmarks and places that are often overlooked, with stories that bring context and meaning to what you see — including cultural layers such as immigration, urban development, and the lesser-known Afro-Argentine heritage. This is a private, flexible experience shaped around your pace and interests, where the focus is not only on what you visit, but on how you experience it.

Itinerary
We begin the tour by stepping into a completely different landscape. The Reserva Ecológica Costanera Sur offers a quiet retreat from the city, where native vegetation, open skies, and the sounds of nature set a slower rhythm. Paths unfold naturally through the reserve, inviting you to move at your own pace. Along the way, you’ll encounter a rich variety of plant life and bird species, and with a bit of luck, you may also spot tortoises, reptiles, or small mammals. The experience is flexible by design. We can take a short walk of about 300 meters (around 1,000 feet), continue on a longer route of approximately one hour, or remain longer to observe the landscape more closely, whether through birdwatching or simply taking in the surroundings. This is a moment to pause, adjust the pace, and experience a quieter side of Buenos Aires.
We continue to the Immigration Museum, a place that invites a different kind of reflection. Here, the focus shifts to the people who shaped the city in the late 19th and early 20th centuries. As we walk through the spaces where thousands of immigrants once arrived, the experience becomes more personal — an opportunity to imagine the uncertainty, hope, and determination that accompanied their journey. Many came from a Europe marked by hardship, leaving behind what they knew in search of something not yet defined. Buenos Aires became that threshold: a place of arrival, of waiting, and of new beginnings. The museum preserves these stories with quiet dignity, and also offers the possibility of tracing family histories, allowing visitors to search for records of relatives who passed through this very place. It’s a moment to connect not only with the city’s past, but potentially with your own.
We arrive at Plaza de Mayo — a place where the city’s history is not only remembered, but still present. Beyond the major political events that took place here, this space allows us to explore deeper layers of the city’s past. We’ll uncover lesser-known stories and characters, including the often overlooked Afro-Argentine presence, whose legacy continues to shape Buenos Aires in subtle but meaningful ways. We’ll visit the Metropolitan Cathedral, where, if timing allows, we may witness the changing of the guard. From there, we can step onto the Cabildo’s balcony for a broader view of the square — a moment to understand its scale and significance. Nearby, we’ll also discover the National Bank, one of the largest domes in the world, hidden in plain sight. This part of the tour invites you to see beyond the surface — to read the city through its history, its architecture, and the stories that are not always told.
We continue to Galería Güemes, a remarkable example of Art Nouveau architecture in Buenos Aires. Inside, you’ll experience its refined design and, if open, access one of its towers for a 360° panoramic viewpoint over the city — a unique perspective of Buenos Aires from above. The building also holds a literary connection, as Antoine de Saint-Exupéry lived here during his time in Argentina. In the surrounding area, we’ll explore nearby buildings and their stories while walking along the iconic Florida Street, one of the city’s most traditional pedestrian avenues. This part of the experience also includes a pause to enjoy one of Buenos Aires’ finest artisanal alfajores — a small but meaningful introduction to local flavors, best appreciated in the rhythm of the walk.
Impressive government building. A place that was even used as a funeral parlor.
Experience the vibrant culture of Buenos Aires at Caminito, a lively street museum in the La Boca neighborhood. Marvel at the colorful houses, enjoy street performances, and explore local art galleries and craft shops. Dive into the stories and legends hiding around every corner in this iconic and picturesque area.
We continue to Barracas, a neighborhood that reveals a quieter, less visited side of Buenos Aires. Here, we’ll explore Pasaje Loria, a small and distinctive street that reflects the area’s character and history. If traffic allows, we’ll also reach the old railway neighborhood, where historic houses still stand — a part of the city rarely seen by visitors. This stop offers a glimpse into a Buenos Aires that feels more local, more residential, and deeply connected to its past.

Pablo is an amazing guide! He really loves his country and he knows BA very well. He took us to great spots to eat lunch and for some alfajores and also showed us the best sights with many added details we would never have learned if it wasn’t for him. I went on a tour with him, then two days later reserved another one with my friend, guess that says it all. Thank you for the two wonderful days! :)
Thank you so much! I still remember your smile when you got the chance to play basketball at Caminito—I shared in your happiness! I was also delighted that you called me again to arrange a tour with your friend. We were able to explore so many wonderful places together.
My Dad, who uses a walker, and I took Pablo’s Buenos Aires trip. He was very concerned about my Dad and made sure we parked close to each site. He was friendly, entertaining and even sung some lines from an opera. We had such a good time, we booked another 1/2 day trip with him. Wonderful guide. Don’t hesitate to book with Pablo!
Im glad you had a good time. If you return to Buenos Aires contact me again, There's much more to see and experience in the city.
We had an absolute amazing time! Pablo was very knowledgeable, patient and professional. We booked a private tour for 2 days. He was always on time and showed us the best of Buenos Aires. I can’t imagine experiencing BA any other way as a tourist. He’s formally trained on the history and as a native, he obviously knows the culture. He made excellent food suggestions. 10/10!!!!! Don’t miss out.

We did a full day tour with Pablo. It was EXCELLENT! Highly, highly recommend touring with him!! My sister and I were visiting BA for 3 days and Pablo perfectly timed out a tour that let us see and learn so much! Everywhere we went, Pablo was a wealth of information. We came back with so many great stories from Recoletta! He also gave us recommendations for other things to check out on our remaining days. For reference, we are from the U.S. and speak very, very little Spanish. Pablo was an excellent translator and we felt very lucky to have such a wonderful guide to show us this beautiful city. It felt like touring with a local friend!

Pablo is an excellent guide and a wonderful person. My husband and I spent a full day with him when we were in Buenos Aires. He showed us the city that he loves and with many interesting side stories. He accommodated us when we requested a visit to Chinatown at the last minute while still showing us all of the main sights. Highly recommended!!!
