Buenos Aires: Discover Mate - Masterclass with Argentine Pastry

I had the place to myself basically. Michaela was my host and a great teacher. There was a lot of history, culture. and protocol to absorb. She was able to answer my questions, walk me through the process of brewing a proper mate cup of yerba, and how to share a brew with your friends and family. I was tired when I started and left wires as hell. Great experience.

My friend Mario and I learned a lot about preparing the mate. The pastries were great. Our master Michaela was welcoming and perfect!

Overall we got to experience mate, but the experience was only 45 minutes and we did not get to try as many options as it described. For the price being higher than other mate experiences, I expected it to be longer and more in depth. We got to try 3 types but only because my partner and I each chose a different second type and shared.

If you have never had or do not know what Mate is in the Argentinian culture, this class is for you. I was able to learn how to prepare a Mate pot correctly and understand the social "norms" around sharing one. It is not as straightforward as you might think! Thank you for a wonderful class.

We really enjoyed this experience. I had read a lot about Mate and it is not really something that you can just walk into a cafe and get. We got insight into the history, different blends, how to check for quality and freshness, how to prepare, and the etiquette of how it gets served. Our friend knew nothing about mate and also really enjoyed the experience. I'm a convert and will be confusing colleagues while I fix mate during meetings.

A very cute store and a wonderful host. She explained the ritual and significance of mate. Very informative and great organic yerba/mate flavors. We were running a little late and she was incredibly patient and responded quickly.

Interesting to learn about the history of mate. Fun to experience a tasting with traditional and flavored mate. Each person in the family had their own favorite.
