Use all your senses in an interactive manner at the historical centre of Bruges, and discover the most fascinating aspects of beer. Learn more about Trappist and abbey beers, the many beer types, the brewing process, women and beer, food pairing and much more in an innovative way. For the youngest visitors (5-12 years) there is a Kids’ Tour, an exciting children’s story about the Bruges bear, which can be read or heard in ten languages. In the museum you will also find an amazing bar, where you can enjoy no fewer than 16 draught beers (gluten-free beers, soft drinks and alcohol-free beer are available as well) and the museum shop. I was disappointed that the monastery tour with beer tasting wasn't offered for our cruise. That said, the crew here did a great job and we had a blast and learned something! I think we all decided that we like Belgium beer! It seemed short, but I guess that is better than feeling like it dragged on! But plenty of time with each beer and we had time to purchase more, and we did! Great old world fee being on the square and in an historic building. Our group was only 20 and there was another group of 20, which was just about perfect. It was a hot day and temp inside was perfect. If you like beer and have not looked at what makes a Belgium beer different, this is the perfect stop!
We had their beer chocolate pairing and I loved it. You can buy tokens and use them at your leisure. We went there two afternoons in a row.
I was there on July 6, 2026, and my experience was horrible due to the poor service and the rudeness of the clerk who, just because I said hello, responded rudely by telling me to wait. A rude employee should not work at that establishment.
It was good, it did not include a tasting and that was an extra charge. We did the Brussels tour and it had an amazing rooftop patio and 2 beers to taste.
Very nice experience if you love beer and its history! Nice location where there is a lot to see and taste!
Good fun for a couple of hours. Interesting interactive museum with fun beer tasting in bar overlooking square
With Belgian beers growing in popularity this is a great way to learn more about them. You get to learn more via the interactive iPads through which you can answer questions and hear facts and history whilst wandering around the building. After that you can sit in the bar area and try out three of the huge range of beers on offer. It’s a great way to spend some time in Bruges and possibly come away with a taste for a fruity beer!
We went and it was ok . You get head set and walk around with ipad. My husband enjoyed the quiz . But it was alot of history about Beer . You need to be really intetested . At end you get Beer tasting if you paid for it . Plus a photo if you want it . Only went because i saw it on You tube and it looked fun . But now i wish id hadnt told my husband .
It was very informative about the history of beer, the bar staff were very helpful with the choices of tasters i should have
Informational musuem with superb insights although could easily be printed rather than using scanner, tablets and headphones. Could spend 90mins in there and the €14 and €20 tickets were worth it. Would recommend getting the 3 beer tasting ticket for the full experience. Unsuitable for under 18s as there are no soft drink or non-alc options at the bar, although we were previously told there were. Overall 3.5 out of 5 stars.
