It was a great experience. Tom was a great guide on the island. We didnt realize how big Martha's Vineyard really is. There is much history there. Coop de ville was a great restaurant. The Mahi Mahi tacos were great as was the Mahi sandwich. There was no shortage of Mahi on the sandwich or tacos. The clam chowder was so good. Beautiful water views.
The overall trip organization was top notch. The guide getting the tour to the ferry was excellent. The guide on Martha's Vinyard was a lifelong local; his knowledge of history from 1600s to current day was extraordinary.
Our tour guide from Boston to Falmouth, Johnny Boston the Fourteenth (so he said) was fantastic - a mine of information and dry humour. Our guide on the island, Tom, was also superb - a native of Martha’s Vineyard with lots of interesting stories and personal reminiscences about the local community and its people and culture. Overall, an excellent day out.
You know, they say that all tour guides are the same-that is not so. There is one that stands head and shoulders above the rest. His name is Johnny Boston! We scheduled the Martha’s Vineyard trip with the 3 hour tour. We’ve done this tour with the same company in the past; so, we already knew how great of a time they showed us. It had brutally hot in Boston (where we were picked up from) the last few days. My wife and I had been out that heat for the previous two days-all day, each day. Neither one of us felt the best, anyway, but we couldn’t wait to take this day trip to Martha’s Vineyard (and tour) with them again. Even before Mr. Boston picked us up, my wife had been nauseous and gotten sick a few times, but she’s a trooper and wanted to go anyway. As we were traveling to Falmouth to catch the ferry, she had turned pale white and said that she had to go to the hospital. For her to say that, something was seriously wrong. I am deeply in love with my wife, so I became extremely worried and scared because I felt helpless as there was nothing I could do to help her. As we made a bathroom stop, I explained to Mr. Boston our situation and how my wife was about to pass out. Now, he could have and was well within his rights to tell us there was nothing he could do and we were stuck; but Mr. Boston went FAR above and beyond what anyone would have expected. He looked up, and found, a hospital in Falmouth. Not only did he drop us off at the hospital, but after he safely got the rest of the passengers to the ferry (still early, I might add), he came BACK to the hospital and sat there almost 3.5 hours until my wife was released (heat exhaustion and severe dehydration)! As if that wasn’t amazing enough, Mr. Boston then took my sweetheart to a CVS to pick up a prescription the hospital called in for her! This man was an angel sent from Heaven. We had never been shown care and kindness like that before! We didn’t get to go on our 3 hour tour, but Mr. Boston got us over to the island so that my wife could see it from the Oak Bluff pier for about an hour. Johnny Boston, if you ever see this, please know we will forever be in your debt. You are the Tom Brady of tour guides! Not only that, but we will ONLY use this company from now on.
The tour itself was great, however the air conditioner on the van and bus could not keep up with the 100 degree temps outside. Because of that the drives were not pleasant. Also did not know we would not be able to eat until after 1pm so we had not prepared to take snack. The driver did not offer water or snacks.
Amazing trip! Only not so nice was that our bus didn’t have A/C and it was 102 degrees.
Thank you for your 4 Star review of our Martha's Vineyard Day trip from Boston. I'm glad that you had an amazing day! Sorry it was 102. I appreciate you sharing your experience. Kind Regards, Stephen M. Belcastro President New England Trips Inc.
Johnny Boston was an awesome tour guide. The whole day was organized well with a good mixture of free time and organized touring. It was well-timed overall for all that you want to see and do.

This tour is the perfect way to take a round trip through Martha's Vineyard. Thatch was our driver between Boston and Cape Cod and very knowledgeable about the areas. And Tom drove us through out Martha's Vineyard, and he knows a lot about his terrain because he grew up there. There ferry ride is beautiful and refreshing, if you choose to take the air on the deck. And on the Island we had many great photo opportunities during the driven tour. And then 2.5 hours of free time to enjoy the Island before catching the return ferry.
Thank you for your PERFECT 5 Star review of Boston's ORIGINAL Martha's Vineyard Day trip. I am very happy to hear how much that you enjoyed your day with us. Both Thatch and Tom are great at what they do. We've been operating this trip since 2011 and take alot of pride in the service that we provide. The Island Queen has partnered with us since we began and you couldn't ask for a better ferry ride. I appreciate you taking the time to write this extremely detailed review! Sincerely, Stephen M. What a beautiful day to Martha's Vineyard! I loved the drive from Boston to Cape Cod learning interesting facts by our tour driver, Jay. We went on a relaxing ferry to the island. There we met Tom, our island tour guide. I highly recommend taking this tour. It's well worth the money for three hours. Tom lives on Martha's Vineyard, and he has great stories from living on the island. He kept the tour so lively with interesting facts! After the tour, we had 2 1/2 hours for lunch and shopping. If you get a chance, you need to visit the Gingerbread cottages where people live. My family had a wonderful and relaxing day on this beautiful island!
Thank you for your GREAT 5 Star review of Boston's ORIGINAL Martha's Vineyard Day trip. I am glad that you and your family enjoyed your time with Jay and Tom's island tour. They are two of the best! We all sincerely appreciate your HIGH RECOMMENDATION! Kind Regards, Stephen M. Belcastro President New England Trips Inc.
