Borobudur Temple is the world’s largest Buddhist monument, rising quietly from the lush plains of Central Java. Built in the 9th century, it is designed as a massive stone mandala, guiding visitors on a symbolic journey from the earthly realm toward enlightenment. Thousands of intricate relief panels narrate Buddhist teachings, daily life, and ancient Javanese culture, while hundreds of serene Buddha statues watch over the surrounding volcanoes.
Prambanan Temple is a majestic 9th-century Hindu temple complex in Central Java, dedicated to the Trimurti gods: Shiva, Vishnu, and Brahma. Towering pointed spires rise dramatically above the plain, symbolizing Mount Meru, the sacred home of the gods. The central Shiva temple dominates the complex, surrounded by smaller shrines and stone reliefs depicting scenes from the Ramayana epic. Both elegant and powerful, Prambanan reflects the artistic brilliance of ancient Java and comes alive at sunset, when its silhouette glows with myth, devotion, and timeless beauty.

The sights with our driver Endra were perfect. He safely drove us through the heavy traffic, gave us advice on what else we could visit, and accommodated all our wishes. He always picked us up on time and accompanied us to the entrance. He was very reliable, friendly, and humorous.

It was truly a great experience with Hendra! He picked me up and dropped me off from the hostel and drove me to the two beautiful tempels and explained everything perfectly! Hendra is very sweet, enthusiastic about his work and will openly answer any questions that you might have! I would really recommend going on one or multiple tours with him!! 😊

very good and polite. calm driver. knows the streets and routes very well. definitly recommend him. everywhere he goes with you people are happy to see him and greet him that shows you that he is well known. the car is also very clean and comfortable

Hendra really is a great guide. I had some clear ideas of what I wanted to (like Borobudur and a particular Batik village I had heard of) and he filled in with other ideas. Including ideas I would never have thought about and required both his local knowledge and his ability to listen to me and reflect my interests as discussed. Hendra is a great conversationalist, thoughtful well informed and good to spend time with. He is also a good driver in some crazy traffic. I spent 3 days with Hendra and absolutely recommend him.

We had an amazing time with Hendra, he took care of everything, was there on time, super safe driving and very knowledgeable. We had very good chats in between places which made the trips feel quicker. He also provided us with few tips at the places.

We had such an amazing experience visiting Prambanan and Borobudur, and a huge part of that was thanks to our guide, Hendra. From the very beginning, he made everything easy, enjoyable, and stress-free. You can really tell he loves what he does—his explanations were clear, interesting, and full of little details that made the temples come alive. Prambanan was absolutely stunning, and Hendra helped us appreciate not just the beauty but also the history behind it. And Borobudur… just breathtaking. Walking through it with his guidance made the experience feel much more meaningful. What we appreciated most was how kind, patient, and attentive he was throughout the day. We truly felt taken care of. Honestly, we couldn’t have asked for a better guide—delighted to have had Hendra with us. Highly recommended!

Hendra was the perfect host. He was punctual. He collected us in time, he was really knowledgeable. He picked excellent tour guides who told us incredible stories about the history of the temples and the Hindu culture. A really fabulous and memorable day out.

Full day tour of two temples just outside of Yogyakarta. Hendra picked us up at 8am and took us to the first temple Borabadur which was absolutely stunning, smooth process of getting in. Hendra directed us to the tour guide that would be showing us around the temple and then told us where to meet him after we were finished. We then met him and he took us to a restaurant for some lunch, the restaurant was rather pricey but served nice food. We then went to Prambanan temple and met another tour guide, and had a private tour around the main temple. Both guides were very informative about the history and how it was built. Hendra also gave us some extra info about both temples whilst we were in the car, he was very knowledgeable. He then drove us back to our hostel at around 3:30pm. Would definitely recommend this tour, amazing value for money, great driver and beautiful temples .
