Borneo Wildlife Tour 3 Days 2 Nights At Tanjung Bulat Jungle Camp Kinabatangan

Description
Tanjung Bulat Jungle Camp is far unique from other lodges in kinabatangan is because this jungle camp is totally own and operated by the local people come from the river people tribe. Coming to TBJC means supporting the local community product as well. Beside that TBJC also situated in a very isolated place in Kinabatangan river compare to other lodges, for example, if you go to the other part of kinabatanga river lodges, 1 monkey will be 10-15 boat watching, but in TBJC, 1 monkey only 1 boat, which is US. We also implement NO MASS TOURIST policy in our jungle camp, which means, in a moment we only allowed 10 traveler maximum to come to our simple and basic jungle camp yet special. This is because we want to give such an authentic privilege for our clients. We also, implement our conservation project called rainforest carbon offset project (tree planting), some of your money we get, we will invest it back to environment by buying tropical seedlings from the local community.

Really enjoyable few days and exactly as described. The boat rides were informative and we visited different areas both at night time and during the day. The walk was HOT but very interesting. We saw a mixture of various monkeys species, birds, insects, monitor lizards, a wild cat and a baby saltwater crocodile. J and the team were very friendly and informative and asked any questions. The food was delicious and varied. The room was basic but exactly what you should expect from a trip like this. Overall a very enjoyable experience and would highly recommend.
This was perfect for what we wanted. Ability to see lots of wildlife up close & in their natural environment. Jai was a great host & his ability to spot wildlife from afar (mentioned in previous reviews) was incredible. Early morning, evening & night ventures on foot or by river were punctuated with huge quantities of local produce to eat. The intervening time allowed us to relax, enjoy the scenery, snooze or chat with fellow guests. If you have a slight interest through to deep desire to see Borneo wildlife then I thoroughly recommend this trip. The accommodation is basic but anything more, IMO, would detract from the experience. Prepare to get very sweaty!! Great trip, great hosts & we saw hornbills, crocs, proboscis monkeys, macaque monkeys, lemur monkeys, monitor lizard, loads of kingfishers, civet cats, sea eagles, and huge amounts of bugs & a snake. Unfortunately no orangutan on our trip. Definitely take binoculars, poncho, torch, long sleeves & trousers & if an option the best camera you can afford. With an iPhone you’ll still get great images but some will be a bit far away.
Excellent !!!!! Best team best location best activities !! Brilliant guides and very good rooms Thank you for everything
It is not that active, mostly sitting in a boat and watching animals from far away. But it is a genuine jungle experience which we very much liked. Our guide Jaii is a enthusiastic lover of the jungle, who respects it. We got to know a lot about the region and the creatures. He was also a great spotter of animals from even far away, which was very fascinating. Which also means most animals are far away, so I strongly recommend to bring good functioning binoculars. It will make your experience way rich. Food was also very nice. Not very fancy but tasted very good. I highly recommend this tour. So much different from the touristy Kota Kinabalu cruises, that made me feel like filthy pollution to the nature. +there are a lot of insects, including mosquitoes so be prepared
Must do experience, and we will definitely be back! ❤️ saw so much wildlife, and had enough down time to be with my family 5*❤️❤️
Amazing experience! Tourguide Dean and his team were really friendly, helpful and could spot a croc in seconds. 2 orangutans were hanging out in the trees when we got there, and on the boat rides plenty of macaques, probiscus, kingfishers, monitors and cranes. Rooms basic but comfortable (it is a jungle camp), meals the same. Raincoats and sandals came in very handy, also binoculars. Couldn't fault it for jungle experience.
This Borneo Wildlife Tour is a must. Staying at the jungle lodge felt authentic and we had many opportunities to see wildlife including Orangutans that were eating fruit on nearby trees at the camp. We took numerous boat excursions and saw many hornbills, various monkeys, crocodiles, and other wildlife. The camp was comfortable and the food was good. Overall, I highly recommend this tour.
It was a very raw and savage adventure and that’s what expected. The staff was very active to show us all the secrets and beauty of that enchanting scene
We were on a 4 days 3 nights tour and it was amazing. Jay (our guide) was very good and it is crazy how they spot all the animals specially during the night. It was very cool to be isolated in the rainforest, and the beds and food was good. Even though we had an amazing tour i think I would recommend the 3 days 2 nights tour, as the last day of the 4 days tour repeats the first day of the tour.
The highlight of our Borneo trip! We loved our visit (3D2N) to the jungle camp. Jay and the team were fantastic, they could not do enough for us. Whilst we are well travelled we were a bit nervous as we’ve never stayed in the jungle! We needn’t have worried. We were greeted within 3 mins to cries of Orangutan - and we all ran in our socks to the back of the camp to see a young male swinging happily in the trees! That sums up our trip - exciting, rewarding, breathtaking at times, couple with friendly and welcoming plus basic but very clean rooms and facilities. Do it you won’t regret one minute!
